Le 1er film Princess Principal reporté à cause du COVID-19

Le comité de production du film Princess Principal: Crown Handler et la société Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures annoncent le report du film. Ils ont cité la politique du gouvernement afin de contenir la propagation de la nouvelle maladie à coronavirus (COVID-19), ainsi que la santé et sécurité des cinéphiles. Le comité et Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures annonceront le nouveau calendrier du film dès qu'il sera décidé, sur le site du film et les réseaux sociaux.

Princess Principal: Crown Handler est le premier des six films attendus, prenant la suite de la série TV. Il devait sortir le 10 avril avant ce délai. De plus, le streaming du programme "Pri-Pri Secret Meeting Super" et du marathon de séries télévisées de dimanche a également été annulé.

En France, c'est Wakanim qui continue de proposer la série. Le film n'a pas été annoncé en projection spéciale. .

L'Empire multiplie les actions de contre-espionnage à la suite de l'incident et trouve Control, le groupe du Commonwealth chargé des opérations secrètes contre l'Empire, inquiet et soupçonnant son espion au sein de la famille royale d'être un agent double. Le contrôle confie à Dove une nouvelle mission pour extraire un propriétaire de librairie d'occasion et de le livrer aux mains du Commonwealth. Les espionnes Ange, Dorothy et Chise ont réussi à le libérer. Le contrôle charge également Dove de prendre contact avec Bishop, leur espion au sein de la famille royale, afin de vérifier leur loyauté. .

Ayaka Imamura, the voice actress for Ange in the previous television series, retired in June 2018 due to her worsening health.

Masaki Tachibana (Barakamon, .hack//Quantum) is returning from the previous television series to direct the film at Actas. Noboru Kimura (Gundam Build Divers, Solty Rei) is supervising and writing the script, instead of the television anime's Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress). The film's main five cast members perform the film's ending theme song "Nowhere Land."Yuki Kajiura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) is back to compose the music with sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami.

The films will be entirely new works (as opposed to compilations) that tell a story after the final television series episode. The first film was previously slated for last year.
