This series is the sequel to the two volume series "Vampires part 1" so it is is sometimes referred to as "Vampires volume 3" It is included in the French boxset of Vampires.

Though published, this series is unfinished.

The character Makube Rokuro aka. Rock appears in more than sixty Osamu Tezuka's other series, most notably Alabaster and some sections Black Jack, which provide partial completion to the story Tezuka left unfinished here. Rock also appears in Phoenix, Astro Boy and the Metropolis movie.
