Trivia:
It's basically a childified version of Lupin, though not Monkey Punch's Lupin III manga but, rather, the "gentleman thief" Lupin from the original Maurice Leblanc novels, which are more famous in Japan then they are in North America. (Tuxedo Mask's outfit in Sailor Moon is also based on the same character.)
Although there was never an anime for this manga, CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan includes a two episode story arc focused on it.
