Trivia:
In ep 8 a new character in introduced. Her name is Princess Serenity. This is a reference to Sailor Moon because they are both princesses from space, in middle school, share the same name (in the japanese version), wear sailor uniforms and white princess outfits, blonde, blued eyed and have odango(two buns) style hair.
In Episode 21, some of the items in the gift shop that Ai Hoshimiya visits include a model of NASA's Apollo Program Command/Service Module, framed photos of the Space Transportation System (Space Shuttle) and a mission patch for the Project Viking Mars landers.
