Anime News Network is proud to announce the 2008 Holiday Logo Contest. As with years past, from December 20, until January 1, ANN will replace our usual logo with a more festive one, appropriate for the holiday season. And, as with past years, we're inviting our readers to submit the holiday logo.
For the first time, we're looking for a logo that features ANN's new mascot, Nina (previous contests featured Jadress).
The logo needs to have the words “Anime News Network.com” and underneath, (in smaller writing) “Wishes you all the best for the holiday season.” Feel free to use Christmas, Hanukkah, or any other cultural holiday of the season in your drawing, however you see fit!
To be eligible, a submitted logo must be exactly 360 pixels wide by 170 pixels tall (keeping in mind that the lower right section will be covered by ads on some browsers, and not covered on other browsers, depending on screen width). An example of the layout is below. The file must be in PNG format - max file size 75kb.
It's very important that your submission not only look good on its own, but also look good in conjunction with the rest of ANN's website. The logo will be displayed with the default layout (which can be seen here).
Looking for a little inspiration? Check out the Anime News Nina webcomic, View entries from 2006 here, 2005 here, 2004's entries here and 2002's entries here. (There was no contest in 2003 or 2007).
So what do you get if you win? Why the pride and honor of having your logo displayed on ANN for 13 days. That's not enough? Well then, these two awesome companies have also each offered to give the winner any current box-set from their catalog (so you get 2 box-sets).

The Fine Print: Although unlikely to happen, Anime News Network reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time. Contest is open to any and all residents of the planet Earth and neighbour parallel dimensions, but prizes will only be shipped within the continental United States and Canada (elsewhere, you have to arrange to have it sent to someone living in the appropriate area, and they can send it to you.) All entries become the property of Anime News Network Inc. Winners' names will be posted on AnimeNewsNetwork.com, their mailing addresses will be provided to our shipping agent of choice (ie: USPS) and no one else. Winners' addresses and e-mail addresses will be erased once the prizes have been shipped. Non-winners' names, e-mail and mailing addresses will not be given out to any one and will be erased when the winners have been confirmed. Non-winners will not be contacted, spammed or harassed in any way. We reserve the right to retroactively add new rules when and how we see fit.
