Maybe it's just myself, but the colors of "Salaryman" Pikachu look a bit washed out compared to Fresher Pikachu...

They're all of the same item; it's just that scaling algorithms get funny with fine patterns and so the angle differences get overexaggerated. If you click through to the Pokemon Center page and look at the full-scale zoom, you'll see that effect go away.

Honestly, "Salaryman" is going to be lost on most Americans, especially kids. Even "New Hire" wouldn't make sense. "Intern" is at least something that more people will know what is.

Get it? He's an intern, because Americans don't have real paying jobs anymore.

As long as the kids enjoy this persona of Pikachu, I don't think the description is going to matter to them all that much.

Well, the idea of a "salaryman" as it is in Japan doesn't really exist in the United States. Or at the very least, the bespectacled businessman in a crisp suit is supposed to hate his job.

Considering how new hires are treated in Japanese businesses "intern" isn't that far off from being accurate.

Yes! I've been wanting one of these since they were announced for Japan but I didn't figure they'd release it here since we haven't seen any others from the line... but I'm not complaining! Now to decide if I should take him to the office with me or keep him at home with the rest of my Pikachu army.
edit: Of course, they just updated the store with the Raichu PokePlush that I did order from Japan since they took their sweet time bringing it here... oh well. Raichu was worth it.
