It should be noted that a later tweet clarified that they want to put it on the NX; it is not actually confirmed for the system.

The 3DS version sounds insane which is great but playability may be a problem. We will see but developing the "same" game for the 3DS which is a beefed up PS2 and the PS4 may be financially viable as the handheld version has at least chance to sell big in Japan but both need to be different game in the end as the difference between The Witcher 3 or whatever will be state of the art when the game comes out and Dragon Quest 8 is night and day.
Are they trying to sell 2 games at once to me? SE may even succeed... The NX version is only under consideration btw. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07/28/the-first-games-announced-for-the-nintendo-nx-are?utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=IGN%20%28front%20page%29&utm_content=2&utm_campaign=Blogroll A wise move. |

Looks awesome. DQ VIII is one of my favorite PS2 games, hopefully this will be around that level of excellent. Also, recent Tales games developers, take note, THIS is how you design environments. Not making 80+% of the areas be virtually entirely a level area with nothing but monsters to look at.

Like the different perspectives for the 3DS version and the PS4 one looks beautiful. Would gladly double dip for both experiences.

I was afraid it was going to be PS4 Exclusive, but now I can't be happier! Dragon Quest IX is what got me into the franchise so in excited to play a new one as opposed to a remake. I'm not super sure on the graphic choices for the 3DS version, IX had great graphics, but I'm still super pumped for this. I just hope it (along with VII, and VIII) gets an English release because I need this in my life.

I prefer the 3DS graphics (both versions), since it looks more polished and truer to the classic games.
That said, I hope the game will truly be the same on all consoles, so that people won't need to buy multiple versions of it. ^^' |

It being on multiple consoles simply increases the chances of someone being able to get it for a platform they own. But it being exactly the same on the Sony and Nintendo platforms would be kind of meh. |
