If they're doing a compilation, I wonder if that means it's wrapping up in Japan.

It sounds tempting, but I'll have to see images of what they really look like. I'm still aiming to collect the entire regular set!

I've got 2 volumes of this as I've been busy collecting other series and it looks like it's paid off as I'll be able to get these. Wanted the battle angel last order omnibus they did but I'd already bought all the single volumes and I can't really afford to double dip without good justification such as the new planetes release will allow me to complete the series.

Hopefully they can complete that "Master Edition".
Last time I saw a "Master Edition", it did not end well. It was... already dead. |

Someone con Tumblr asked if the master edition would include color pages, but I dont know how to use Tumblr lol.. Did Kodansha answer? Does anyone know?
I think not, they would have said and it costs $40 vs Shingeki's Colosal Edition which costs $60.. |

And the reason why Shingeki's Colossal Edition cost an extra $20 is because each of the chapters is around 2-3 times the length of a single Fairy Tail chapter. Either that, or the publishers are trying to milk as much money from Shingeki no Kyojin as a franchise before all the hype dies down. |

@ETX that shouldnt matter as both editions are 5 in 1, arent they?

That's just it. They may both have 5 chapters in either volume, but the overall size of the Masters Edition for SnK would be at least twice the thickness because there is a lot more pages to print, hence why it costs so much. |

Manga volumes usually have around 180 pages which is like 9 weekly chapters while monthly mangas usually get 4 or 5 chapters (depends of lenght of chapters) to fill the 180 pages..
So whether is a weekly of monthly manga, each volume usually has 180 pages or so, unless its a seinen, those include around 220 pages.. So basically a volume of fairy tail of attack on titan or naruto or whatever other shonen should have around 180 pages. Hopefully Kodansha answers whether or not it will include color pages. |

Will they be releasing all the series in this format, or only the first 5 volumes?

Congrats to Kodansha USA. I find that these omnibuses would be well worth the price to the right buyer.

It'll probably be exactly the same size as the Attack on Titan: Colossal Edition, seeing as how AoT was 7.1 by 10.5 and Fairy Tail will be 7 by 10.5 inches. But considering that the first edition of that cost $59.99, with the second retailing for ten dollars less because of a lack of color pages, I'm wondering why Fairy Tail has a price even lower than that.
At any rate, I prefer the regular 3-in-1 omnibuses over the over-sized 5-in-1's, but I can see why this might more convenient for a longer series like Fairy Tail. |
