Am I the only one who read "BOQ" on Nintendo's poster?

This is my reaction to the pic... (Scrolls, sees the top half of the picture). Oh that's cute... I like it. (Continues scrolling) Sweet merciful crap! WHY IS SHE WEARING SHORT SHORTS? (Face palms) I'm still a bit of a newbie when it comes to the Fairy Tail fandom but dude! SHE'S 12! |

Happy Halloween everyone!
Here's hoping Luigi has his Poltergust ready to vacuum and nearby Boos and other unfriendly spirits. |

Has 07th expansion done anything? I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of a Happy Halloween from Maria.

Darn, I was so busy, I missed my annual viewing of the Dirty Pair OAV "Halloween Party" episode. (And ftm, has anyone gotten a common straight answer from any two anime episodes about what the heck the Japanese think Halloween is? "It's supposed to be some sort of harvest festival?" "It's the one day of the year when everyone can dress up and not be recognized!" "Isn't it supposed to be a saint's birthday?") |

(2012) Why Halloween Isn’t Popular in Japan: “I don’t celebrate Halloween because I don’t have a boyfriend” Seems in Japan every Western-imported holiday becomes an excuse to nooky. |

Basically, even non-English-speaking western Catholic countries don't really like/understand Halloween all that much. (Not the least of reasons being, it takes too much attention away from All Saint's Day on the 1st.) France tried to outright ban it at one point--and market "Gauls' New Year" instead, with big mugs of mead at the pubs--and Mexico's been on a busy little quest recently to market the more thematically focused Dia Del Muerto to its "core" ethnic audience in a competing market for holidays. And, of course, the Japanese don't even have that. (Most of their Christians are the Catholics who try to ignore it.) Have to have that bit of Celtic/Druidic influence in the British background to really Get It, let alone figure what "Trick or Treat" is supposed to mean. |
