Uh....I'm not happy to hear this news.
I really hope they don't screw this up with the upcoming 2 cour adaptation. |

The fist season looked like crap so this doesn't scare me or anything like that. In fact, I am actually a bit happy, they might even get Hatekayama to direct an episode.

agree. I even dropped it when there is nothing happen at around ep 16 or 17. It's just slice of life in an MMO. lol |

I don't really mind this change. It's not like Satelight's animation is any better than DEEN's. And I've been impressed by the latest DEEN shows I've seen(Rozen Maiden, Hakkenden and Sakura Trick). Also the staff is the same as in season one so I'm not worried.

I guess since DEEN has typically been synonimous with "cheap" and technically, this is a kids show, so most of the audience won't care. My expectations for this season are still pretty good.

Are you referring to the actual animation? Sounds like you are blaming an animation studio for animating the content as they were told to in previous adaptions you didn't like. Those staff changes are all for determining how it looks. It looks to me like the people who determine what actually shows up are staying the same. It isn't like the first season was a visual masterpiece... I really doubt this studio change matters much at all. |

So, DEEN... I think they're better now than 6-7 years ago, and they're obviously better than Satelight.
I'm ok with the change, and they're even using the same staff that worked in the 1st season. I hope they have more budget now. Last edited by konqueror on Sat Sep 20, 2014 3:24 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I think the people having knee-jerk reactions about the animation studio don't really understand how anime is made.

I often defend DEEN, since they're much better than they used to be, visually, but the word on them is they are just not your go-to people for adaptations. I don't trust anyone under the DEEN umbrella just yet. Shows switching studios midstream also is not quite to my liking, even if a lot of the freelancing staff are staying on the project.

I still haven't finished the first season of Log Horizon, but it SUCKS. Hopefully, a new studio is exactly the improvement the series needs.
