Is it too much to hope for it will be a complete game, and not rely on micropayments for a sane playing experience?...

Soon all games will be mobile games.

And they will all microtransact you to the poorhouse.

Ride those coattails, Sqex.

Ride them until even your most dedicated fans fall right off.

I used to defend them when they pulled shit like this, but, just, no. They have All The Money they could ever need to fund a real, major flagship title. They have no reason to be making even more mobile garbage.

I cannot agree more. I haven't bought a single one of these mobile games, but every time I see an article regarding them I just shake my head.

Before the recent release of the HD remaster of FF10, I haven't bought a Square Enix game since March, 2010 (FF13). I just don't understand the articles when they say there isn't enough interest/demand for a full feature game.

I know most of their core fans are still holding out for FF15, but with the release date constantly changing, I won't hold my breath.

If all Square-Enix is going to do with FF is just make mediocre console games and lifeless mobile games, then they should probably just end the series. They've either run out of ideas or just stopped caring, so I don't see why they even try. That said though, 16-bit Luneth is pretty great.

They're not making it, it's not taking up any of their resources. Mobage is making it.

I knew it that the game would be a nostalgia cashgrab and an All the Bravest rehach. Please be excited indeed. XV and company needs to be good to make up for the last 5 years.

Am I the only cheapskate who leads a happy mobile-gaming experience WITHOUT claiming to be "shaken down" by the "greedy conspiracy" of every micro transaction game?
Most games only have the micro-transactions as options (refill your energy now! Buy more power-up cheats!), in which case, if you're greedy and unsatisfied enough to want them, you deserve to pay.
And the way most players complain they're being "denied" their "necessities" and "forced" to pay for them, you'd think they do.

The games I've played simply allot you a certain amount of resource per day and make you wait till tomorrow, which, come to think of it, was...exactly what my mom used to do on the computer, when I was a kid. Confused

Guess we'll add this to the record for most disappointing announcements.

Remember when you'd go to the store and buy a game for a set price and you'd go home and play it and it was a complete game that leaves you wanting more, so you replay it again and relax without having to worry about spending more money? Pepperidge Farms remember.
