OH MY GAWD.
Yokai Watch 2 sold more copies in 6 days than it's prequel, that has been out for a year. I guess since they did it like Pokemon with two versions with minor differences really helped. (Must be the goodies in it, huh) |

YW 2 released on the 10th. The sales cover 7-13. Thats not 6 days. |

Youkai Watch is the hottest thing in Japan right now. Sold out of their fair convention tickets in less than 30 minutes
http://news.livedoor.com/article/detail/8988415/ It's crazy how much it's taken off in only a year. Though not too surprising. I suspect it has to do with how similar it is to Gegege no Kitaro which is usually popular as well, but hasn't been on TV since 2007 and Youkai Watch is filling that gap just fine. Plus all the catchy jingles and music from the toys which are very similar to Kamen Rider and Super Sentai transformation jingles. Seems to have a great blend of a ton of elements. The anime is doing pretty nice as well. It also has really catchy music |
