I will probably pick up a couple of these titles, but there are other Yen Press titles I want to see in ebook more. (Spice and Wolf, LN and/or manga please!)

When they say they'll be releasing new chapters of Soul Eater Not as they're released, I sure hope they don't mean they'll be selling them on Amazon. Can you imagine how confusing that'd be if every publisher did that and you had to order, say, a dozen chapters every month, or maybe even some every week? Just cut a deal with Crunchyroll.

I saw Doubt and hoped it was the manga formerly licensed by Tokyopop. Hopes dashed when I saw rabbits.

I asked them about pricing of the simulpub chapters on twitter and they said $.99 for 16 or fewer pages, $1.99 for standard length, and $2.99 for anything longer. https://twitter.com/yenpress/status/448103948629852161

Not interested. Digital manga is not something I fancy.

Are you sure you don't mean "Doubt!!" released by Viz? The title is available digitally. |

I am happy and sad with this news.
175 titles is awesome and this answers why Viz has not been able to release FMA digitally. I have been using my iPad to read digital manga for 2.5 years. It has been a great space saver and much easier on my eyes. Viz and Crunchyroll have a wonderful platform. With my Shonen Jump membership and CR I am enjoying a HUGE amount of new manga each and every week. I am sad, because I know Yen Press will not even try to match this standard. I supported Yen Plus in print and digitally, but I did not like their digital plan. Unless there is a substantial amount of savings I will not be purchasing their digital books. |

This is good news. I never bothered to buy from Square Enix's online service. But, I did purchase one of Yen's digital exclusives Welcome to the Erotic Bookstore. I just hope Yen doesn't have a lot of trouble with any retailer content standards (that of course vary regionally too) because you honestly never know sometimes.

It's nice to know Yen will FINALLY get their act together and release their manga in a digital form that is available on most handheld platforms. Maybe I'll still be interested in buying their titles when they go live here as opposed to YEARS ago when I wanted them.

I think it is great that more manga is being made available digitally. Not too long ago, I upgraded my Kindle Fire to an HDX specifically so I could buy manga on it. There are a bunch of titles I'd like to read, but don't necessarily want to devote the finite space I have left on my bookshelf for them. And I'm already double stacking my current collection, so I truly appreciate some space saving (especially if a title is long running).
I still love having titles on paper, but these days I tend to only buy physical copies of titles that I want to either true favorites and want to keep long term or have a high quality print edition (a la Thermae Romanae). And what's not to say that a title I initially buy digitally ends up becoming a physical copy on my shelf one day. So bottom line, more options to get manga is an awesome thing. |

I remember scanlating Doubt with snoopycool. It was my first scanlation Great to see something I worked on popular enough for release. I saw they did tanks for them that I haven't picked up yet.
It was decent. It's a suspense manga and prequel to "Judge" It was Tonogai's first manga and though I haven't read Judge yet, I hope he was able to improve his storytelling a little bit. For the right price, it's a good read ; |
