While more BL anime isn't a bad thing, does it have to be from an Eiki Eiki work? Her stuff is so stereotypical and frankly kind of rapey.

Love Stage has one sexual assault scene and it's handled a lot better than most BL considered the bottom never thinks it's his fault, he makes the top apologize and the top never touches him again without his consent.

While not the best situation, better than other series.

There also is one more scene where the bottom defends himself from attackers. Something else that is rare in BL. So all in all, Love Stage isn't really that bad in the sexual assault/rape department.

Anyway, I'm up for this. I loved Love Stage. Now all I want is an Elektel Delusion anime.

I'm intrigued by this. I'm not the archetypical demographic for it, but I'm a little curious as to what a boy's love anime would be like. I have a sort of 'disinterested' curiosity about the genre. Besides that, it's uncommon enough that I appreciate it just for the added variety.

I suppose that's reassuring, but 'it's not as rapey as other stuff like it' feels rather like damning with faint praise. One of the things that I find most curious, but also most disconcerting, about the genre is that themes of sexual abuse and domination seem almost to be part of its definition. Perhaps the experience is different from another kind of person's point of view, but I can't quite grasp the appeal.

Isn't that part of any romance, hetero or not? Very Happy

The only yuri example I can think of was written by BL authors. I haven't really sampled straight romance much a all, but none of the works I've read with one have had such a plot.

You're reading all the wrong BL then. There's plenty out there that handles relationships with all the consent in the world and then some.

Awkward Silence isn't rapey neither is Bond of Deams. There are plenty more but they are the first couple that pop into my head.

I'm really happy for this news. 2014 come sooner. As was mentioned above, even if it initially does use sexual assault bordering rape as a plot element, I think it's really well handled, and Ryouma has to put a real effort to earn Izumi's affection after that, as opposed to the rape->love trope.

I also really like Izumi overall as a character, he's really different to the uke stereotype and has shown a lot of independence and proactivity, both in his relationship and his work.

Reading this forum I had to laugh a little and go 'ya....this is my fandom....' Sigh.

Anyway! Since I consider Taishi Zaou and Eiki Eiki the same person half the time, this is their second anime? Go them. As for the anime itself, I'm not exactly jumping up and down excited but I am happy there is another BL anime coming our way. The story isn't bad (not breaking borders either) just pretty typical BL with added Taishi Zaou and Eiki Eiki quirks. I'm just not a huge fan of really girly looking guy characters, which is why I never really looked into it prior to hearing about the anime.
