I personally find this pretty [expletive] funny. I wonder what his violation was?

Well, considering what he was put on parole for, I think it's pretty easy to see why is was arrested. But, honestly, I find this more sad than anything. Not sad in a "Oh man, now when is CS Media's first DVD coming out?" way, but rather in the sense that Corey Maddox seemed to want to give traditional anime licensing a honest-to-god real try, even hiring Neil Nadelman for the translation. He had to have known to starting this company would put him in a position that was public enough to the point where he would had to fix his issues, lest he (potentially) bring his company down with him. Starting this company meant that he had to be professional & able to deliver the goods he promised. I'm hoping that this violation is more a case of Maddox having a problem that he needs help getting past, because if not then the only other thing I can think of is that Maddox felt that he could simultaneously run CS Media while also indulging in actions that got him into trouble in the first place. If it really is the latter instead of the former then I honestly will have to give up on this guy ever doing this anime "thing" right. His original idea with Hoshizora Kiseki was just dumb, but I was willing to give this guy another try with CS Media; even if the title doesn't interest me, he seemed to be giving it a real, properly-done chance. If he can't get past his own demons, though, then he really has no place trying this stuff out... He needs to focus on other things first. |

Oh, man, I'm from Atlanta. Weird.
On-topic, this is pretty despicable, and I think anybody who would come out an say, "Oh, I hope this doesn't affect my anime" should really be thinking about, "How do those pictures he got off to affect those kids?". This guy needs to stay away from the anime industry... and from any child. |

Well, I guess if we can say something positive about Corey Maddox it's that he manages to keep his name in the news...

Considering the nature of his prior conviction I don't see how anyone could possibly find this even remotely funny. |

Guy can't be around children, I'm sure that makes him a lot of fun at anime conventions.

Ah, son of a bitch. It's impossible to stick up for this company.
(also will I go to hell if I'm okay with a convicted sex offender handling my animu, as long as he doesn't put his pedo stuff on the DVD?) |

At this point, the guy just needs to stay away from anime and get his problems sorted out. Because trying to get an anime released into home video market is the least of his problems.
As for the show he got, guess it won't get released with whatever support he got probably was dropped after his arrest. At least he didn't license something related to his history, like Ro-Kyu-Bu! Kinda confused on the story. Is it saying he's out of jail on bond or still in jail? |

I'm still just astounded that anyone was dumb enough to license their show to a company he was running in the first place. I mean, past convictions and general questions about his character are bad enough but the dude was evidently still on actual probation. Did they not bother to do their due diligence at all? Or did they just somehow think this wouldn't blow up in their face? By all rights this guy's dream of ever actually starting an anime company was delusional...except then some company said: "Yup! Let's make this happen!"

There's some question about whether or not he ever actually completed the contracts for said license. Not sure if that's still the case but I know when that initial announcement was made, it was pretty dubious. |

That's very interesting. So from what you've heard do you think that there was even anything there? Like was there a deal more or less in principle but it just wasn't formal/payed for yet? Or was he just claiming to have a deal when nothing had even really been agreed to at all? |

Don't know about the actual contract, but Neil Nadelman tweeted he's still working on it. https://twitter.com/docsane/status/370276351104016384

Well, I hope it does get released, I'd like to own the damn thing. Needless to say, I shan't be ordering directly from Crimson Star's website if it ever materializes.
