I've never heard of most of these so I can't really fill out this survey. Oh, well.

A very long show like Urusei Yatsura would be really expensive, though. At 40 bucks a pop, it comes to $600!

And isn't it one of those shows that went on way too long, like most Rumiko Takahashi stuff? Makes me think Sols would never finish it.

I hope the survey makes them realize these shows and their pledge drives basically need to go on indefinitely. Two months is way too little time to fund any of these, it'll probably take quite a few months for people to even find this site.

They can't do that due to credit card companies. but basically yes they need a lot more time for people to even find the site, let alone decide to plump down a lot of money on a show.

Needs Legend of the Galactic Heroes. At least that show has more buzz than Ginpei the Penguin (not that I wouldn't be interested in that).

Hopefully they can renew or continue the pledge drive afterward for unfunded shows for at least some number of times. If it's based on credit card authorization holds ?, maybe they can ask the pledger if they would like to repledge.

WRT this survey, honestly I think that's a much more appealing list than the titles AnimeSols debuted with; I will still support Creamy Mami and Black Jack though. Even relatively obscure ones like Onii-sama e and Hidamari no Ki may have more appeal. But that list also has some heavy hitting classics like Urusei Yatsura and Kimagure Orange Road.

I'm also glad and a little surprised to see newer titles being given the opportunity. I would have thought stuff like:
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu
Kemeko DX!
GA - Geijutsuka Art Design Class
07 Ghost
Tono to Issho
. . . would have been held for, or picked up by Sentai

Speaking of Sentai, I'm a little confused. Why is Space Brothers on the list? They had licensed it almost a year ago.

"The service received pledges of over US$12,000 for classic anime title DVD sets including Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel, Tekkaman, the Space Knight, Bander Book, Yatterman, New Yatterman, Blue Blink, Ninja Robots Tobikage, and Black Jack. "

Not even one of those is close to half of the money it needs. At this point, animesols is a complete and utter failure.

Well of course it is. I surf the net all the time, and only heard about it like 3 days ago. I had no idea it existed.

I think for their own sake of survival, they need to get relatively new series on there, yesterday. Nogizaka Haruka and GA: Art Design Class aren't incredibly new, but they certainly have more anime fans aware of their existence and willing to spend money on them than for Tobikage or Blue Blink. Space Brothers: imagine the massive proselytizing and evangelizing lovers of that show would give it. Bamboo would probably mention it every single chance she gets. Some people would probably throw down $1000 without even thinking. It's new, it's still airing, and it's good. Every time CR adds an episode they can remind people if they want to own the show to go to AnimeSols, and it might provide some runoff for the other things there. They need Space Brothers. It's not even a question.

I noticed that Tezuka's Bible Stories appears only in the "will you pledge" but not the "would you like the watch" questions. That's either a mistake, or that series is already confirmed.

Section 23 licensed Space Brothers

Though I agree with you about newer series. Only the most hard-core animation junkies know about some of the options listed on this survey. I know about a few, and consider myself fairly knowledgable about the older stuff, but I have to admit not recognizing most of what they list on the survey.

I think it would help them if they link all their titles to individual kickstarters. Especially the Tezuka shows.

They might want to think about doing OVAs as well. A lot of people enjoy the beautiful animation done in the shorter format, and the cost/goal may be easier to meet. I think a lot of people, including myself, are frustrated by the continued funding for these really lengthy television series. If the first goal is met, you get a 13 episode box set, with no guarantees that future goals for that series will get funded. No one really wants to have an incomplete show in their collection.

It's barely even been two weeks. No series is even half way through it's pledging yet. Many aren't even a third of the way through.

Not a single series is even a quarter of the way through. Hell, aside from Mami and Black Jack, everything else isn't even a tenth. How long as we assuming these pledges run? They all say "about 1/2 months" but I see no specific date set for the end. Let's assume three full months, so they end on August 13th, so about 13 weeks. They need to raise over $1,000 a week to meet the goals, and some of the shows say they have 1 month left. Without some massive rush of support for some of those virtually unknown series, they're not going anywhere.
