You gotta be kidding? For real? Shirow, Rikudou, Shirow, Rikudou...hmmm... That's one hell of a combination. But Shirow does know humor so I'll be curious to see how this plays out. Since I'm a fan of anything Shirow.

What?!?
I would have never predicted that combination. It’s like somebody threw a bunch of names into a jar and picked two out.
The teaser art doesn’t inspire confidence in me, but it’s such an unexpected combination that it’s probably even less reasonable than usual to judge from just that. Then again, it’s not as strange a pair as it might seem on the surface; both have a pronounced comedic streak. (Although I haven’t read the Excel Saga manga yet, so I’m not sure how compatible they are) Even though they’re segregating their duties for this, which I think that mangka should try more, I’d like to think that Masamune Shirow is contributing at least opinions on the art and Koshi Rikudou the same for the story. (It’s probably best this way, otherwise they might as well call this series A Perfect Day for Banana Tits)
If we’re lucky, this will prove to be as good of a combination as a Reese’s cup. I suppose that Shirow would have to be peanut butter in this case, as I presume that he’s soft and sticky.
I'm interested in seeing how this turns out.

I'm a pretty big fan of Shirow's work, especially Ghost In The Shell and Appleseed, but the elements that attracted me for the most part were the character, city, and mecha designs, plus the science fiction elements he explored, especially in GITS. The humourous aspects held less appeal. Rikudou's Excel Saga never really interested me at all. Unfortunately, the teaser image included with the article doesn't instill in me much confidence that this new manga will be one that I'll have a desire to follow. I'll have to wait for more images and a description of the story to come out before I'll be sure.

As much as I love Shirow-Sensei's works, i doubt he going be really put alot effort into this. How long has it been since he made anything for a general readership?
I know it take epic amount of time draw full length manga. His storys have always been high complicated (I don't mind) but not for everyone.
I wish he would get back drawing & writing more new mangas.

I find it strange Shirow is just the writer. I'd have thought he would at least do character desings (because he's so good at those) or help draw something in his new manga.

Wait what, Shirow doing manga? That's a surprise, hasn't it been like a decade since GitS2, and THAT was his first new manga in a good while. Isn't he an illustrator these days, because there's more money to be made there?

Agreed, this sounds like an amazing combination. However, if they are going to segregate duties, I might have preferred it the other way around (letting the contrast in style vs. story amplify the humor.)

Has this come out?? What name of this strip? I'm surprised there been nothing on it. I hope it wasn't pie-in-the-sky thing that died.
