Wish they would get rid of the god-awful USA version. The floor reporter alone is an annoying aspect of the thing. Always in the middle of the kitchen and can't say "Good Evening" in Japanese right.

I have to wonder if they'll try to tie it into the old show like they did with those specials they made afterwards.

Chairman Kaga had a Daughter/Son/Transgendered bastard offspring. Much like how the USA version has the Chairman be the nephew of the original.

i love every gordon ramsay show i've seen and loved the oringal iron chef, but could never get into iron chef usa. they took all the fun corny aspect out of it and just ruined it. who watches that shit? it's like comparing top gear usa to the uk version. the originators from the uk are great while the usa version and all the other versions are pure garbage.

Doesn't help that Hollywood manages to wreck the original source material.

But I digress.....

And 500 yen is on the TG angle. Maybe played by Matsuko Deluxe.

Pretty sure I've watched every dubbed episode of the Japanese series and all of the Iron Chef America episodes to date. I like them both, though I'll watch just about anything with Alton Brown in it.

I wonder if Food Network or Cooking Channel will carry the new series down the road.

If it means more work for ADR actors outside of Texas then sure.
Weren't there like 1 or 2 actors on the old Iron Chef dub that when on to do roles in some anime?

I hope a dubbed or subbed version ends up online somewhere. I always enjoyed watching this but I certainly won't be subscribing to cable just for it.

I too like the Iron Chef America show also. Much for the same reason as some others, Alton Brown.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Japanese series also.

I'll watch this new one as long as it has Chairman Kaga (who, himself, has done an anime role, Jiraldan in Pokemon: Revelation Lugia) and doesn't have Jerkface Flay.

I would certainly hope someone wouldn't get cable just for one show.

And Iron Chef USA and Iron Chef America are two different shows. ICUSA was the first attempt at localizing Ryori no Tetsujin, hosted by William Shatner, which bombed.
