Besides the 80's manga and anime of Knights of the Zodiac, I don't really think there has really much much of that in the US.

As for Saint Seiya, I know there several manga's of that (I think one is from the early 70's and maybe there is some earlier than that possibly.)

But like Opn, I don't think this will ever be released in America any time soon or ever. There probably is a reason and it's likely about questioning if this game will sell or not. Or maybe not, these days with anime video games it's hard to tell.

@opn Well the series was is pretty popular in México/Latin America so maybe if fans from those regions started a movement asking for the game we could have a chance of seeing the game in North America.

PS3 the Japanese and American games are the same region so you can just simply import it and play on your American PS3.

It's cool that it takes place during the Hades Arc. Hopefully it covers the Inferno and Elysion since the last PS2 fighting game covered the Sanctuary arc from what I remember. I also hope Kurumada brings back Furuya Tooru as Seiya and Horikawa Ryo as Shun. I would so love to see him use the Vegeta voice as Hades.

Hey, we DID end up getting Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage. But then again... that wasn't really us
getting it so much as it was Koei regurgitating it out on the masses and leaving hapless fools (like myself) to fall victim to it's mediocrity.

Oh, 60 hard-earned dollars.... how I miss you.

Can't they really let this franchise die? I wish Kurumada would stop.

Not when there is money to be made.

What exactly are you talking about? Saint Seiya ran from 1986-1990 and that was it until after 2000 when the spin-offs, Episode G and Lost Canvas, and the official sequel/prequel, Next Dimension, debuted. There aren't really any Kurumada mangas from the early 70s or earlier either, as he didn't debut as a manga-ka until 1974 anyway.

I think this is a little uncalled for, as Saint Seiya is nowhere near as over-used as something like Dragon Ball is, especially when it comes to video games. But, like mentioned, it's a popular series so there is no reason to let it die. At least it's actually getting more overall story to it rather than simply re-using what's been done with since the 90s every single time it's used.

As for this new game it sounds interesting, but I do wonder why they seem to be stopping at the Sanctuary portion of the Hades Chapter, especially since the entire story arc has been adapted to anime by now and has a full cast to use.

And, yeah, we're not getting it in the U.S. and Canada.

If you don't like it, fine, but some of us really enjoy the series.

I cannot conceive of why we got a new Birdy the Mighty. I enjoyed the first well enough, but it really didn't stand out in any way. Yet here we are.

Just because Seiya didn't go over in the US doesn't in any way detract from the title.

Much agreed. I was extremely disappointed that Kurumada basically abandoned the old cast right at the end of the first Hades arc OVA. I could probably be a bit more forgiving if he had done so before the production of the OVAs, but I just don't like inconsistencies. Not that I have anything against the new cast.

Actually, the second PS2 game covered the Hades arc up to the first half of the Inferno portion (more specifically, Ikki vs Aeacus). I wish the PS3 game could cover the entire series, including the much neglected Poseidon arc, but I'm just glad to see Saint Seiya getting a new game after so long. I'm definitely importing it.

The plot thickens now, as Siliconera is reporting that while Namco Bandai is publishing the game, the developers are in fact Tecmo Koei.

Saint Seiya Musou, anyone? I personally love the Musou/Warriors series and I felt that the Fist of the North Star game was the best of the series, so if Seiya is truly getting a Musou game of its own then I'd be all for it... As long as it gets a North American release as well as a Xbox 360 version.
