Zacs review of Rio needed more screen shots. I'm not sure I can decide if I should watch the show until I can accurately assess "Rio's ridiculous body in as many fetishy outfits as possible."

I had a feeling that Rio didn't have much going for it and it seems I was right. I might check out the fetishy outfits, just for curiosity sakes.

I'm sure the audience after this is just as big as the object of affection we're looking at.

Rio is sounding exactly how I expected.
I'm still watching it, just because it's the closest I'll ever get to a Dead or Alive anime (and I have a thing for the character)
Don't judge me =(

It sounds gloriously idiotic! Yeah, I'll probably be able to feel myself getting stupider watching this, but what the hell. I like watching dumb crap now and then!

Why, for instance, would a casino—a ruthlessly profit-driven entity—employ a dealer who imparts good luck, thus costing the casino big every time she hits the floor? And who was the genius who decided that gambling was a good basis for heart-warming schlock? The scenes of Rio healing indecisive boyfriends and heart-broken divorcees with roulette and poker (and, not incidentally, lots of money) are plain icky.... |
Carl, stop! You had me at ridiculous.

Arggh, Safari is being a bitch today and not letting me open the link to the preview guide. Mind you, that's not nearly as annoying as the fact that I'm at work so I can't watch Rio's Rack RIGHT NOW!!!

The fanservice part doesn't look like it'll bother me, but the premise seems really flimsy. Like Carl mentioned why would a casino keep Rio around if she gives the casino goers lots of luck so they could win every time?

Hahaha, and here I thought Rio – Rainbow Gate! was going to be some hentai show about gambling.
I still don't get what the story is about, because it makes no sense to me.

So she's an anti-Cooler. Maybe an anime William H Macy will show up and be her nemesis.

It's an anime financed by a company that makes pachinko/slot machines so it unrealistically glorifies the gambling hobby.
Of course it doesn't make any sense.

There is such a show. It's called "Strike Witches."

I thought it was going to be a shonen tournament show involving pachinko and I'm still trying to figure out if that or the poker with fanservice idea is more strange/boring.

What's the deal with the teddy bear? Is it stuffed with diamonds? Crack? The soul of an evil demon? Inquiring minds want to know!

It's worse then you can imagine. They don't even play poker really, someone just hands them some cards and then we get an extended sequence where Rio starts glowing, her clothes disappear, and random multicolored geometric shapes float through the air. This lasts for minutes. This is quite possibly the stupidest show I can recall watching.

I'm prepared to give Rio a few more episodes - It could be the 'entertainingly daft guilty pleasure' show of the season.
The whole poker game was even more OTT than Saki's mahjong games.
