This is awesome, but I'm going to have to be the guy everybody
facepalms at and derides my comment because UFC isn't wrestling. It's MMA, and even when they're on the ground in headlocks and whatnot, it's considered "grappling." So... yeah. |

These guys are nothing compared to Kenshiro... And I'd rather not watch two men covered in sweat and blood, thrusting heavily at each other and engaging in series of positions on the ground. Worst of all, they are not wearing any protection! *GASP*

You're right, but you're wrong. Wrestling is in itself an important element in MMA and both these men have extensive amateur wrestling experience in College. Grappling usually refers to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. (I hope someone decides to license All Rounder one day) |

I guess it's no surprise that there are a lot of MMA fans in Japan. Pride was awesome.
I'm not sure that's correct. As I understand it, grappling is a pretty general term that encompasses everything from takedowns to submissions and everything in between. Basically, grappling is the half of MMA that isn't striking. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or wrestling would be considered different styles of grappling. Wrestling tends to focus more on takedowns where as BJJ focuses more on submissions. For this reason, a lot of fighters train in both as they compliment each other nicely. So wrestling definitely is an important part of MMA. It is just one part though which makes calling it wrestling incorrect just as it would be incorrect to call it boxing or jiu-jitsu. |

Wasn't mean they weren't wrong to go after the title, they're right about that, it was more the second bit that I took exception to.
The intention was state that wrestling is an important core mma disciplince, along with striking, the clinch, and bjj. You could term everything except striking as grappling I suppose, including the clinch, but that'd be boring. |

I missed the part where Robin Mask and Terryman make a special cameo.

Oh wow, these manga are awesome! And he's drawn LOTS of them. Including one for the Silva-Sonnen fight that just happened! I was at that one!
In any case, anyone happen to know if there is someone regularly translating these into English? If not I may have to try my hand at doing it because my husband is a huge MMA fan. |

You can just click on the top of the blog to go to his main page. The Silva one is his most recent post so it's right there. (Or you can just click here:) http://manabelldo.exblog.jp/13135073/#13135073_1 I haven't found any translations yet though, sorry. The Nogueira brothers make a guest appearance in the manga too, heh. |
