Ugh, I got jury duty on the 18th, so I hope they don't have any date-exclusive screenings...Though it's kind of ironic that AMPAS has a tribute to anime when it deliberately black-lists most anime movies from its awards ceremonies. Oh, and Kurosawa got a raw deal from that organization, too. Just an "honorary" thing. Ah, well, at least it's free. Plus I'm glad AMPAS recognized Perfect Blue, even though it hates animated films which are rated R and animated films which don't look cartooney.

this exhbition opened in germany last year
here's a review http://nishikataeiga.blogspot.com/2008/03/anime-high-art-pop-culture.html altough I would've prefered to see more pictures I don't know if it's the exact same exhibition but it looks like it is. |
