You have to wonder how would any of the Shin Chan movies would be if they were licensed. The dialog would be Adult Swimmified.

Japan must have nothing to do but to make a movie out of shin-chan,which is wierd for this to come around. What mear content can make this a out of a movie?
Maybe some die hard imagination and creativity helps, but come on you got to say this is wierd.A movie out of shin-chan?!? Well on secound side of my mind im saying its not all that stupid because i had seen some pretty dumb things to come out as movies,so this is not that suprising. |

It would be great to get a North American release of the Adult Empire Strikes back Shin Chan movie..
Commentary from Murakami's Little Boy Commentary on AniPages Daily Unfortunately, it really doesn't fit with FUNimation's branding of Shin-Chan. |

Just FYI, but it's the SEVENTEENTH Shin-chan movie, so like, I don't think they care all that much about original content. |

The "Shin-Chan" movies are pretty dang good actually, probably just as good as any animated movie that isn't necessarily based on a T.V. show. As for FUNimation doing the "Adult Empire Strikes Back" movie, I talked to Gen Fukunaga at the last Anime Expo about it and he's aware of how popular that movie was in Japan (I saw and it's really good). He wrote it down so I'm sure he'd consider it.

Shin-chan is still one of the most successful anime series in Japan. The TV series has over 600 episodes and is still running ... if they managed to come up with that much, they won't have any problems to produce another 20 movies at least.
