*cheers* Yet another series (if you can call 2 volumes a "series") I love gets some much-deserved attention!

I had read v01 in scanalation form quite a while back so when I realized, a few months ago, that both volumes were available here in the U.S., I knew I had to have them. And I was very pleased with my purchase (btw, Amazon currently offers them discounted at $10.85 each).

I agree with the reviewer that Fumi Yoshinaga's artwork is definitely different from the stereotypical supernaturally-gorgeous bishounen that are usually offered up in BL works; of course, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think her characterizations and storylines more than make up for any (perceived) lack of "prettiness" on her characters' parts.

Sounds like my kind of series. Friends to lovers is a favorite of mine.

I think Tamiya could get annoying given his seemingly strict less laid back personality. Tohdou sounds cool. I love laid back open characters.

I'll give it a shot.

I loved this series, the first book especially, and one of the things I loved was the artwork. She can say so much without dialogue. Some of my favorite parts are scenes where there's no talking at all but her drawings speak volumes. I also love her dialogue and how intelligently these people speak to each other. They have wit! She doesn't always write it, but she's capable of some funny stuff and some shows up here.

A friend just pointed this review out to me, and it sounds pretty good. I like a mature sounding BL. And I loved Antique Bakery, so I'm willing to give this one a shot, as long as there's not rape or borderline pedophilia in it (I think one of her other series had something that I didn't like, so I didn't read it, but I can't remember).
