That was fast. I thought the Umineko story wasn't even completed yet.

I hope it will be a good mixture of horror and slice of life like the first season of Higurashi (and not something dull like the second Higurashi season).

How could no one have not expected that? Heheh. Looks like there's new media to milk for TV. I was wondering about the new project. I remember it was being announced but never gave it a second look.

Looks like this is something else I'll have to check out.

I saw it coming as soon as the Umineko games were announced. Higurashi was just too big at the time and I never saw it losing steam. Just didn't think it'd go into production this soon.

'm sorry. With the exception of the Save Satoko! arc, which could have been shortened by an episode and a half, the second season was hardly dull.

It just didn't have as many LOL, murder parts as the first one.

Well! This is certainly nice news to wake up to. Just when I thought there wouldn't be anymore Higurashi after the OAV, I'm proven wrong.
I'm going to guess that it's going to be new characters this time? Here's hoping that they're just as charming a bunch as the Hinamizawa crew. It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle this given that the 3rd game is just coming out now and even if they waited a year only the 4th game will be out by the time they start this.

Normally, I'd pray for anyone but Studion DEEN to be working on this but after the second season of Higurashi it seems they figured out what the appeal of Ryukishi07's work is.

By the way. does anyone who has been following the games know whether this is a cyclical story like Higurashi or a more normal continuing one?

Another series in the making, I wonder if they'll be making a manga series for this as well. Loved Higurashi manga. So, I'll be looking to see if they'll be continuing this with other games.

They're already making a manga for Umineko, and there's been one volume collected into a graphic novel so far.

As for the anime, I'm glad to see they're going to do it, although I already expected them to since Higurashi's so popular. I'm guessing they'll do more drawn-out versions of the arcs, as opposed to the Higurashi's first season tactic of squishing each arc into four episodes. It would definitely be good if this were the case.

You're thinking of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei. That was announced a couple of monhs ago, but that's a OVA project. This is a different story and a different project that will go on TV.

The second they anounced the games, I knew deep, deep, deep down in my heart that they would make Umineko into an anime.

Seriously, though, this is the best news I've heard all day. I'm really excited to see this.
