This may actually be one of the first Spiderman comics I'm interested in. I just love Junko Mizuno's art style. Very Happy

Honestly, I don't think it'll sell well. JM has a distinctly gothic style which'll make old fans o' spidey turn their heads and new ones won't like the spidey theme... because they're only fans of JM.

I, for one, and happy that JM is making a new book, however. My opinion is different.

Just because she made a couple of strips related to Spidey doesn't mean she's doing a Spidey project. For all we know, she's doing something related to Typhoid Mary.

You've never read a Mizuno manga in your life, have you.

I'd say I was more shocked, but it isn't like the big two haven't dabbled in letting avant-guard artists publish works before. Still, its a bold move to go with someone as bizarre as Mizuno, even if she does tone her weirdness down.

Gurihiru is also a freelance illustration duo in Japan that has worked with Marvel.

They've done a few issues of Power Pack, which also stars Wolverine, Spider-Man, etc.
If you're a fan of Marvel and really cute art - check them out, too.
