Okay, so it's either because of his comments opposing the genocide, because of a stage play he's so busy with, health reasons... or something far worse.

Considering he's only losing work involved with China, I think the reasons are clear. Love a man with morals. Hopefully he finds new work

Oh, it's pretty obvious reasons - he just got Kayanoned by Chinese developers because of appearance of reading of book about Uyghur treatment by Chinese government that not really pick the CCP in good light - though it's kinda strange that they not suddenly thrown him under the bus just right away, but there is possibility that maybe that discovery took months after someone in Chinese social media brought that on.
Either way - like in the case of Kayanon, he is very experienced seiyuu and will be most likely absolutely fine even with being blacklisted just by the chinese game industry only.

Talented, and legendary voice actor at this point, but not very bright, it seems...
Regardless of how he feels, and what he thinks, he should have just kept his mouth shut, especially considering how much work are seiyu getting from Chinese games nowadays, including those who, like him, just aren't in their prime anymore, and don't appear in anime as they used to.
Hopefully other seiyu learn from his mistake.

Or maybe because he is such a legendary and successful VA he doesn't need to cowtow to that kinda pressure and instead use his fame and platform for a greater good and support things he cares about. You know, like a good human being.
And good on him for that!
I will miss hearing his voice from that character but caring about that issue is very honorable.
