So will this affect the program in any way? Just curious, I work in radio in the US and if sponsors bail your show is basically cancelled

It basically means that it is not getting any sort of funding for the tv network to operate, without the sponsors it will go into ruin. the fact that sazae is airing without any commercials highlights how bad they are in, cause it is the programme block that has the most household views like 10% average.

Honestly after this they really should go. they were basically pimping out underage girls to be used and abused and covering them up. THis network company is the very definitiion of a black evil company that use portrayed in anime and other ''Media'' It is like what happened with the bbc and the jmmy scandal. (i wont go into details, look it up it is disgusting).

It's rather not the show itself, but the whole Fuji TV network itself getting cancelled - but yeah, considering the current situation, they are pretty much on crash course and having one of the top watched TV shows (considering we not talking about just Sazae-san, but also shows like Maruko-chan) among the Japanese households without the commercial sponsorship is a real sign of that crash.
