I don't think I have ever had green tea flavored anything, besides actual green tea, and maybe a drink or two. Doesn't sound like it would go over well. I think I will stick to the custard. Packages are cute though, but that's no surprise.
Models are always neat. All this Macross talk makes me want it to come over here even more. Satelight has done business with just about every one of the R1 companies. My fingers are still crossed from last time. Does anyone know if people in Japan are hyped about this too? Besides companies trying to sell stuff of course. |

When did Shouji Kawamori abandon the macrobiotic diet that he was boosting when he was working on Arjuna?

I found the photo with "no photography" icon rather ironic.

All for the sake of merchandising Actually green tea flavored ice cream and that kind of dessert stuff is pretty good, if you think about it.

This place sometimes has green tea cream puffs. I haven't tried it yet because I'm in love with the vanilla ones. They make amazing cream puffs! My sister will make a trip to San Francisco sometimes just to buy them.

Kind of disappointed the premise is going to be more like Macross 7 than any of the other ones.

Some of us really liked Macross 7. It actually still might be my favorite, though the Macross Frontier pilot ep was really fantastic looking. The old macross plus album was the first thing I thought of when I saw the article title, hehe.
Can't wait for the torrents! |

Damn miclone protoculture and its delicious treats!
I don't see how everyone is so excited about this new Macross show - the first episode was far from impressive. The character designs were bad, the CG was hideous, and the main characters were generic. It was slightly better than the first episode of Gundam 00, though. Let's hope it climbs in quality the way that did. |

Green tea cream puffs are in some Japanese convenience stores already. You just have to arrive at the right time of day.
That's a good question. |

I did think about it, that's the problem! I'll just have to try it out for myself sometime. I wonder if any national brands make green tea flavored deserts. I will have to check that out when I go shopping next. |

Macross Frontier looks like a Cream puff version of Macross.
It's fluffy on the outside and all sweet and gooey inside. Just kidding. My impression of the new series (thus far) is as follows; The bad news: The premise seems more like M7 than Macross Plus. Which is depressing for those of us who like realistic anime and were "wowed" by the original Macross, Macross Flashback 2012, and Macross plus. Those of you who've seen M7, all 53 planet dancing episodes of it, either hate it or love it. I'm in the middle on that issue. I like the overall story but hate Basara and can't stand how his VF-19 was able to dodge enemy attacks while he played his guitar. That was just plain stupid to me, but enough of that. After MZero I gave up on the franchise. Then I saw the review in the February issue (the last issue *sniffle*) of NewTypeUSA. So I thought I'd give it a look see. The Good News: After I saw the fansub of the first episode and the "new" fighter designs it left me awestruck. Some may say they are nothing more than a rehash of the M7 mecha, which is a pity because Kawamori Shoji is a great mecha designer and these mecha are among his best IMHO. I for one like how these mecha are a "refit" or logical progression of the next generation of mecha from M7 (like the USS Enterprise in the Star Trek Motion Picture was a refit of the original TV show Constitution class). I must say I like the new alien mecha (they remind me of an organic looking Mobile-Armor from Gundam, and their heavy beam cannon is sweet!) and some of the new UNSpacy warships. So hopefully my cynicism about the general storyline is misplaced and this series pans out to be as good as the original. The combat scenes certainly are great. It has the Macross Plus feel to it in that regard. What can I say, M7 and M0 left a bad taste in my mouth, maybe the sweetness of a Macross Frontier Cream Puff will wash it away. |
