Also showing is Tobi The Five Tailed Fox, the latest from Korea's Lee Seong-gang who also directed My Beautiful Girl Mari. Yobi is a more traditional film than the surreal masterpiece Mari was but it's still a damn good movie imho.

I find it intreguing that something that is suppose to be so niche, like anime, can sell out a theatrical release so soon. Must be a very small theatre. I would love to see the look on the faces of the coordinators when they notice a lot of the people going in to see 5cm don't have any children with them.

Why would they show 5cm at a children's film festival? I would think most kids would be bored out of their minds at this movie. I just hope that the people going to see it realize it's not really a movie for young kids. I suppose teenagers might appreciate it.
It's a great movie and I'm glad I got the chance to see in a theater, but it would not be high on my list of films to take a kid to.

The release on dvd for 5cm is in March 3rd. This way you can get to see the english dubbed or especially if its sold out.
I'm with ManOfRust, its not a concept children will understand easily. Something near teenager/adult would appreciate it much more. It conveys life's tragedies and sometimes how things end up. I'm curious how it looks on a theater screen.

It's a test, don't you see? They're going to have a camera watching all the kids and videotaping them, the ones that don't cry will be tagged as emotionless inevitable criminals and will be removed from society following the film.

Is it still scheduled to be released in March? I was listening to the Anime World Order podcast and they said ADV was dropping a huge number of titles... including 5cm Per Second
