Because it's not actually the same show we already saw. Original show was made decades ago, and this one in 2020s. Even if they cover the same material, fundamentally, they are different experiences.
Yes we did, and I say that as someone who always watches original before watching remakes. Not everyone will want to go out of their way to watch old anime, no matter how iconic, from late 80s / early 90s, especially considering how much new anime is available. And especially that we are talking about longer old school series. There are some of us who like those kind of anime, but we are minority. |

I wanted to hear the new voices so I checked the leaks.. and I ended up scrolling over a bunch of scenes.. while the early episodes did OK but soon they were just an awful version of the original in every possible way.
I think Tofu sensei is played by Toshiyuki Morikawa but I didn't recognise Tatewaki's voice.. |

I watched the leaks and enjoyed the first cour but as for if we needed it or not I dunno. I'd rather see material the first anime never got to though but it's not a bad introduction to Ranma so hopefully people check out the manga and original anime because of it
