ok. I'll definitely get Strikers and GTO. Might buy Kite again. Maybe KissxSis at some point. 4 things this time, a slightly better than average Discotek day

Yep, saw this announcement on Twitter/X earlier and I was amazed at the license Discotek has been picking up including tokusatsu shows. Good job, and keep it up Discotek!!!

With Kiss×sis it says uncensored but then it says "The release will include a clean version of episode 9, and a clean ending for episode 12" What do they mean by clean? does it have two versions of episode 9 and 12?

Oh wow. Did they say if the Kamen Rider V3 translation was new? Or are they using the old JNP or Generation Kikada translations?

Never have picked up GTO, so maybe this is the most opportune time to do it. Also the Dallos OVA has me intrigued. Love Ishiii's work.

Not much for me this time. I've got my GTO DVDs still, but it might be worth a rebuy eventually if the subs are improved (not sure how bad the originals were though...).
Harlock and Chie might be worth considering, though first I'd have to pick up the 999 series and not just the movies and get around to checking out Chie to see if I like it.
Neat that Chie did well enough to get more of it though!

I can't speak for this specific release, but usually "clean" means that it doesn't have text over the video. They also mentioned a clean opening for example. I'd presume that ep. 9 and 12 have credits (or similar) over parts of the episode and they include a version without that text.

Clean means without credits obscuring the animation.

Too much good stuff! It’s a big deal we’re finally getting the original Space Musketeer Bismark, I’ve been wanting to check out Dallos, I missed the Professor Layton film the first time out, and I’m glad they’re continuing with Nanoha.

Oh, I'm definitely interested in Humanoid Monster Bem, I really dug the anniversary series and I've been listening to the theme song's cover on the BECK soundtrack for-frigging-ever.

Grabbing Dallos for sure, and why not, I'll take another cut of KITE

GTO hitting blu-ray is tempting, one of those series that I just never properly took a look at. Ditto for Captain Harlock.

On the live-action side, MXC and the Kekko Kamen trilogy are also likely pickups.

Getting me pretty good with this batch, Discotek.

I've had Professor Layton forever on DVD since I got it at Walmart as a kid. Seemed pretty forgotten but that DVD was going for a pretty penny for a while.

The only thing I think I might pick up here is Kite, as long as the Crunchyroll Store and/or Amazon don't have any issues with carrying it.

The other day I thought my box set copies of GTO looked haggard. Heck, I don't think Disc 1 played for years. It's good to see it released on BluRay finally, granted it'll be an SD on BD release. The Captain Harlock and MXC set are looking super good buys too.

From the stream they said GTO featured a lot of composite shots making it absolute hell to even upscale. It is in that time period where anime companies were trying to mix up traditional and digital at the same time. With GTO being one of the best examples.

You can trust Discotek to bring the old goods.

With that said, I can imagine the big fuzz that a re-release of Kite wil cause.

Yeah, any upscaling they would have done would look pretty awful. I would hope this would inspire someone to just redo the whole series, or at least get the second half of it animated.
