As much as I like the Sailor Moon the most when it comes to magical girl anime, at this point, I think it is a matter of opinion that it still reigns as the most popular one.
In Japan, I don't believe it is as big as Precure, and worldwide, IMO, Madoka is much more talked about nowadays. EDIT: As for Ojamajo Doremi, I remember watching just a bit of it in early 2000s on RTL2. Didn't understood anything, and frankly didn't even thought of it as the same genre as Sailor Moon, it just seemed to me like Japanese cartoon with cute little witches. Maybe one day I will get into it properly. |

Those videos just made my heart glow too. Love seeing the old opening updated.
Really hope we'll manage to get some of this series available legally in the US finally. I'm sick of waiting for it to happen. |

And somebody else PLEASE redub the 2020 anniversary movie. Also give it a sub release outside of the UK. |

Precure is popular with children and people in their 20s I do not know many people familiar with Sailor Moon outside a few older people in their 30s and 40s. And I think Harry Potter is more popular nationally among that age group primarily women if we're talking magical franchises. Doremi lies somewhere between Sailor Moon and Precure in both popularity and age group I think. I do prefer Doremi over the other two but I'm in a weird generational position myself |

Internationally, I'd say Sailor Moon. Solely because of nostalgia and its wider global reach. In Japan, I can't say for certain but I wanna say either Pretty Cure or Madoka? |

> sailor moon reigns supreme
Internationally? Sure But as far as Japan is concerned, Pretty Cure is THE magical girl show, it's so ubiquitous in its home country that it's likely the first thing many folks in Japan born after the 90's (or born when Sailor Moon ended) think of when they think "magical girl". I'm pretty sure much of the generations that grew up with Doremi and Pretty Cure don't even Sailor Moon even is and would probably have a surprised Pikachu expression if you asked them about it. Not helping things is the fact that Crystal (and its succeeding movies) were targeted at those who grew up with Sailor Moon. (Also really hoping we get Doremi legally available in our shores someday, because it's one of my favs) |

I know that I am going to get hate for this, but I think that the 4kuds dub was way bbetter than people said it was. The voices actually fit the characters well better than the Japanese version.

Seconding the "what I would not give for even SOME of the show to be available legally in some form in the US," but also on the topic of the event itself: The Ojamajo Carnival animation really is adorable, and I'd love to see a full show in even ONE of the time frames they show off there. I know we just saw one magical girl anniversary sequel show where its now-adult lead was a teacher with Precure, but there is something seriously cute about the prospect of Doremi teaching that gives me a completely different sense than what Nozomi is like as a teacher. (But also, my condolences to Pop fans, given her actress wasn't included in the event and she's all but excluded from the video.)
Also love how we see the group transformed as adults in there, even if they're still in their classic season one outfits. The issue with an adult continuation here, after all, isn't that there are no adult witches in the setting, it's the various issues inherent in the difference between full witches and humans. And of course, hearing the voice actors perform the theme song is something I'm always a sucker for, and especially sweet for a big milestone anniversary event like this. |

Should I say the magical words that Ojamajo Doremi will get a remake?
Btw, https://myanimelist.net/anime/genre/66/Mahou_Shoujo. Sorted by the number of people who have them on their list. |

I'd rather ask for a sequel series instead. |
