I like Mashima works, dunno why.

I suppose its because they are so cheesy they go all the way around to make them cool, he also has an uncanny ability to make you love/hate a character in 2 pages tops.

This was a strong season. I hope we don't have to wait too long before season 3.

Though I'm curious if they'll ever dub this season.

I wonder the same thing. Since Mediatoon (a French company) got global rights instead of Netflix and passed it down to Crunchyroll, or however it went, I'm not sure if there's any snags to getting it dubbed, let alone with the old Bang Zoom cast. And even if they could, would they? As far as I can see, this season barely even made a ripple.

Really hope so, I was enjoying the dub.

Same, I've really loved all of these shows based on his manga series and Eden's Zero has been a great addition so far.

Hmm, I don't agree with the animation praise. The second season was definitely weaker in this regard compared to the first one. It was more limited, lots of more stills and fewer highlights.

Still the annoying amount of unnecessary fan service.

There's just something so sad about the fact that Eden's Zero season 2 managed to happen but not only is it just not gonna get dubbed, it just came and went with nobody caring about it like at all. It just really shows that the hate for Fairy Tail runs so deep in the anime community that people just decided to ignore EZ for simply looking like it. Really saddening as I love Mashima's work and love Edens Zero. Also as a dub watcher it's extra sad since even tho I didn't LOVE the dub for season 1 it was something I was willing to let grow on me that I'll never get to see the version I watched the show continue. Still, I do have the manga physically and at this point I guess that's all I can really ask for.

There's a really great thing called, how about you just don't watch it? Worked for me before.

The FT sequel anime will probably be completely ignored too. Rave Master is a top tier shonen for me and I wish every day that It could get an anime remake, but I also enjoyed FT for what it was. I was there during the darkest days of FT hate, reading the manga during the Grand Magic games arc and feeling the backlash. Yeah it's not the best series and had a ton of flaws, but it was fun and enjoyable, and had an endearing cast of characters (Zeref being one of my all time favorite villains). I lost interest in Mashimas newer projects like Edens zero and the FT sequel manga, but I really enjoyed his works back in the day. It's a real shame people hated FT so much that it destroyed his already shaky reputation. People don't even know Rave exists. It saddens me.

I still don't care for this series. It's just Fairytale in space...

I used to see it the same way in the beginning. But despite the similar characters, ideas and formulas, it never totally felt like reading or watching the same series, mainly with how much of their stories were planned and play out (EZ's most important parts were settled on from the start, while FT was put together on the fly). Plus the EZ manga, now in its final arc, has been building up to a twist about its end goal that's totally changed and refreshed my impression of the story as a whole. It'll all end with a friendship-fueled showdown, no doubt, but I'm looking forward to how and where it plays out.

I don't really like to point fingers, but I feel this is largely due to Toshinori Watanabe being the new director. He was the director both seasons of Tokyo Ghoul:re, and storyboarded every single episode to boot. It doesn't help that he was directing Teppen about half a year before EZ started.

I checked to see who licensed season 2 since I knew it wasn't Netflix, and it says it was Crunchyroll. Considering that Netflix cast the actors that had very obvious Fairy Tail counterparts, you'd think it would be even easier for Crunchyroll. Then again, Netflix does union dubs, and so maybe that affected what Crunchyroll is going to do with it?

More specifically, Crunchyroll acquired the license through Mediatoon, a French company that was given global rights to the anime after Netflix didn't acquire season 2 (it must have done pretty damn poorly for Netflix to drop it after one season). And they got the license a week after the season already started airing in Japan. I'm also worried about the lack of social media promotion after the first cour; not a single clip of the second cour or mention of the season finale. And let's not get into the hot water CR is in with its paid viewers.

I don't know how any of this works or how it affects anything, but the odds of a season 2 dub are looking terrible to me. Then again, I heard rumblings that a Latin American dub for S2 was released, though I don't know where. Could there really still be a chance, no matter how small?

I actually prefer it to Fairy Tail (and I liked Fairy Tail...)
