Trailer looks good. Just hope the story will be as good.
The CG animation is lot more slicker in this one compared to last time. I wonder who will be releasing the DVD next year. Looking forward to it. |

Looks like a video game.
Anyone liking the old style(meaning the movie) better? At least it didn't look like something you would find on an XBOX. Talking mostly about the people not the mechanisms. Regardless though, I am still pretty excited to see this. I wonder if Warner will put out any type of special edition? |

Yes, I'm with you on that. This version certainly looks a bit cold and clinical. I'll probably buy it in any case but I'm not exactly getting excited by the prospect on the basis of that trailer. |

Duh, it's in the trailer >.> Don't I feel stupid.
I don't like Briareos' new look, that's for sure. He looks really scary now; I prefered him when he was more heavyset and had the red eyes instead of the green eyes (although the various manga covers show him with red, green, and blue eyes, so whatever). I do think the smooth CGI looks much better than the pseudo cel-shading of the first film, though, especially since the backgrounds and everything in the first movie were so shiny. It felt like they put their all into the backgrounds and mecha in the first one and then just went halfway on the people. |

The dramatic trailer music blows, but the cg and action sequences look more refined than in the first film. It's a shame they won't try to give it an L.A. run to make it eligible for next year's awards. I wonder if ADV or WB will be re-releasing the first one on dvd... BTW, according to Diamond, it looks like the re-release of volume 1 of the manga's finally out this week.

It seems they may have finally fixed the clashing animation styles of the first movie. I'm sorry but it was just sloppy animating in the original to have all of your characters heavily cell shaded and then have the background be plain (at times bordering on mere gourard shaded) CG. The sequel looks much more consistent. |

The New York Anime Festival will have a Preview of Appleseed: Ex Machina on Friday December 7th. While it is only a preview, it allegedly will be more than a trailer. Go to their site to find out the schedule for other anime films and clips. Oh Yeah, nyanimefesitval.com
