Unironically looks pretty great, but they really did not have any creativity when it came to the title lmao

It's either this, or Blue Beetle.

I like the designs. Who else is on the Squad besides Joker and Harley though? I think you see a second of Killer Croc. Probably no Poison Ivy.

Is this a late 1st April joke? Gotta give DC credit for that, even in the right state of mind I did not even imagine the combination of Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime made by Wit Studio with the character designs of Akira Amano and scripted by Tappei Nagatsuki.
...Oh. Wait. It's an actual real thing. |

It honestly looks pretty good - can't say I've ever cared for anything DC related, but I'll definitley give this a shot. |

I’m actually super excited to see what this will be like. Wasn’t expecting it but now it’s announced I think it’s my favorite announcement so far.

DC and Marvel have had isekai for decades, they just call it "Multiverse".

A bad idea but the Joker isn´t the worst idea to put into an Isekai due to how far he can be stretched. Not that genre deconstruction is what this shaping up to be. The designs are good, no issues there.
Can´t wait till this too vanishes from streaming after 2 months to catch a tax break. The latest casualty of that is DC Superhero Girls. Last edited by residentgrigo on Mon Jul 03, 2023 2:03 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Well, my main hobby is comics, so I'm definitely interested in this. They had me at Anime!Harley. I will say that while I didn't get into anime and manga to see what DC and Marvel could do with them or how Japanese creators could do vice-versa -- I wanted to see what Goblin Slayer, DanMachi, Ghost in the Shell (especially the series) and, err, spoiler[High School DxD] were all about. But I can see how this could be used as a gateway drug into anime and manga by younger superhero fans and vice-versa for younger Japanese fans. Yeah, as if the live-action movies don't already do that. Every fandom has material that's a good jumping on point, and this looks like it could be one of them. ETA: Forgot to include Goblin Slayer, since I actually jumped back into manga specifically because of a controversy involving Goblin Slayer being pulled from a high school library in Texas in 2021-22. |
