Instead of announcing a new visual, they should’ve just told us when it’s airing will it be September or October

I know which scene that is. All the Hope Chads can finally shut up. The anime is getting the same awful ending as the manga. Which was always a given. What adaptation would diverge at the very end and with the same setup?

What about the despair chads who seem to believe that every single human being will have the same problems with the ending they have and haven't shut up about it for over two years? They better hope the entire anime community vindicates their dedication/opinion...otherwise it sure seems like they have been wasting their time for (once the ending come out) 2.5+ years. Wink

As a fellow manga reader who also hated the ending, I will have my popcorn ready when the anime reaches that point and people start talking about it online Laughing

I didn't have a problem specifically with the ending in the manga, as it was a small piece of a what was a pretty awful last arc. My wife and I were also following the anime, but when we realized the Final Season wasn't the last of it (Part drivel BS), we dropped it. I'll be waiting to see the response to the arc, as a whole, once it is completed. Maybe, just maybe, it becomes less of an incoherent mess.

They're probably still trying to figure that out. Just be patient, jeez...

I would suggest while the last arc is lackluster, what made the ending especially terrible is spoiler[ that it completely invalidates/ruins/discredits some of the epic, touching, and memorable movements happening in the previous seasons/arcs.] There are many awful endings, but many of them are just bad closers; however in AOT's case, it is much worse than "it's all a dream" trope in my, and many others' opinion.

[EDIT: Added spoiler tags. -TK]

I’m gonna be the voice of dissent in this thread that not only do I not think that the ending is bad, but that the ending and the final arc are really good. I had some issues with it that I’m going to put in the spoiler tags. Again major spoilers for the ending of the series if you haven't read the manga spoiler[Specifically, Eren’s characterization when he’s talking about Mikasa potentially moving on feels off, I think it was pointless to have everyone turn into Titans and then back into humans, and some of the stuff with the deceased Titan shifters is weird, but the ending twist is really well done and was built up to completely believably. The fact that Eren pulls a Lelouch from Code Geass, was perfectly set up and paid up on.] But basically I felt that the ending was really poignant and, especially with the epilogue that the manga volume added, an absolutely perfect thematic send-off for the series as a whole. I can understand being slightly underwhelmed by the ending but have never been able to understand the absolute disdain and hatred the ending has received.

I thought the ending was fine but I understand why there was a massive dislike for it. Can't wait for the anime to do the same ending so we can have the same discourse but with anime only watchers

I'm expecting the ending memes to come back in full force. People are already having the time of their life with how drawn out this final season is.

Same. I think it's being saved for a broadcast on TV, but at the same time I'm surprised it's taking this long for it to premiere.

Same, with this kinda pace they chose on the deliver would be lackluster and many people will loose interest... maybe for good.

The idea that people would suddenly lose interest right before the final part of an anime many have been following for 10+ years is utterly insane. If it didn't happen before with the gap between seasons, the delays, the broken up parts, why would it suddenly happen before the conclusion?

But okay.... whatever let's you feel better about AoT being popular I guess?
