It's sad, but it's time. The latest chapters haven't been great and the last major arc was very meh

I think Oshi no Ko has been the author's priority practically since it started. Hope Kaguya gets a nice fan-pleasing ending.

Too late for that. The shippers are not pleased that Ishimiko didn’t get a graphic, undisputed romantic finale between those two.

I’ve enjoyed the finale chapters, personally. It’s tying up loose ends and adding the whole “and the story continues” for all the characters. Just moving past one big issue doesn’t mean your story is over. You close the book on one thing, a new thing happens right after-, because that’s life.

Not to mention that at this point, these guys are high schoolers and still have a lot of maturing to do. spoiler[ So Ishigami and Iino not hooking up yet and, instead, only creating their own “love war” makes more sense to me. After everything that happened, especially for Ishigami, making them an official couple now would come off as rushed.]

We’ll probably get actual confirmation in the official finale.

I feel like more manga could benefit from having a slow-burn finale with character-focused chapters like what Kaguya has been doing. I prefer seeing each character get their own conclusions, rather than focusing solely on plot and jumping right into the final chapter.

Wow, what a series. Through the ups and downs, this series is still one of my favorites. Thank you Aka-sensei.

I really wish Viz offered a simulpub release. It sucks being 4 volumes behind so you have to pirate to stay caught up.

It is always sad to see a great series end, though going for too long can be even worse.

It's a shame that Aka got burned out and rushed Kaguya's end. As long as these closing chapters weren't farcical self-serious dramafests like the spoiler[Hayasaka] and spoiler[Shinomiya Retrieval] arcs, then they could've been fantastic material. Hopefully he tightens up Oshi no Ko after this, that manga's starting to slip.

Yea that last arc started killing my interest and these final chapters have just come off as a half assed way to close up story arcs so he can just end this and work on his other new manga.

This really is a shame. I don't care about Oshi no Ko and whatever it's trying to depict. So I would have liked him to continue Kaguya-sama for longer.

Hard disagree here. Unlike a few of the ones before this, I'm enjoying these last few chapter by chapter. They're closer in tone to the origins of the manga, and ended up as great sendoffs for each specific character.

And to those that were hoping for a massive explicit Ishigami-Iino final chapter... it's like y'all never read the manga. It's like reading 60 chapters in and saying 'But love isn't war'.

And that's fine, everyone has different tastes but a cursory glance at the fan community makes me think that these latest chapters have been more than a little bit controversial

Well, That's part of the problem. We've had years of character growth and development tossed out

Well, I have read the manga and that's part of the problem. It's pretty clear there were plot threads shown (in a very explicit way) that were then abandoned. It could be that those threads were axed because Akasaka thought they weren't very good but based on the quality of writting over the last year or so it seems more like he said "fudge it" and just gave up. The Ishi Ino stuff was a cop out ending dolled up as "brilliance" and decided to scrap years of character growth for the sake of a dull joke. What makes it worse, is that this sub arc was having some very development when it was sidelined for the abysmal war arc. All that does it make it feel we were having something something nice taken away for something shitty.
