Attack on Titan is nearing its end as far as the animated adaptation is concerned, but the joint interview is positive publicity for Vinland Saga as the second animated season is well into production. Attack on Titan doesn't really need the publicity after all of the years, but Vinland Saga doesn't have the same exposure outside of its home medium and even the creator acknowledges the animated adaptation is top quality. What better way to pique the interest of potential fans than for the creator of another highly established franchise to give his seal of approval?

It goes both ways. The creator of Vinland Saga literally owns all 34 volumes of Aot.

Quote: | Isayama says there was a certain point in the creation of Attack on Titan when he stopped being able to control Eren. Yukimura agreed that part of being a manga creator is watching your characters take on a will of their own, and sometimes the creator has to fight against their own characters. |
That happened around the last three manga chapters, apparently.

Cool to see them respect each other so much! And that Yukimura respects the anime staff so much.
That My Dress Up Darling reference was unexpected.

Without spoiling anything Thorfinn kinda reboots as a character in season 2 and sure feels different from season 1. Stil, I think the second season might get hated by the fans for the surprisingly calm setting (it kinda reminds of the village arc from Vagabond that took some time and got into hiatus)

There are some creators fanboy interests like Michael Bay loving Coen Brothers movies, where everyone scratches their head asking how could they like them when their work is so vastly different.
And then there's stuff like this where it's like, "Well of course".
