After such a long wait between seasons, I was starting to wonder if Toei had given up on this CG reboot, and I certainly wasn't expecting this switch from Netflix to Crunchyroll.
I'm guessing they'll cram the entire Twelve Houses arc into 12 episodes, so hopefully they won't split the season in two 6-episode chunks this time. |

I honestly thought they had given up on this CG reboot but I guess they want to resolve the story and do the Gold Saint fights.
I hope they don't butcher the Gold Saints too much. Be interesting to compare it to the movie version. |

Huh, I thought the first season received, uh, kinda lukewarm response.
The fact that CR "rescued" this means there's demand after all?
How is this supposed to be done? |

Worth noting, Viz also put Saint Seiya's manga into their Shonen Jump vault today, as a tie in I assume:

This is a surprise to say the least. Funny thing was I don’t remember it doing terribly, it just was viewed as meh by pretty much everyone, and the original anime getting a proper dub was just more exciting for people.
I presume this is a tie-in to the movie Sony is releasing. The one with Sean Bean as Kido. |

It wouldn't be that hard for them, considering how much material the first season sped through. Also, no matter how much material they cut or condense, it still won't be as rushed and terrible as the Legend of Sanctuary movie. |

Nah. This means that Toei is probably desparate to sell this after Netflix bailed on this one. |

Yeah, but it might not look as good either. |

there is a ruckton of demand for saint Seiya as long as either. a) the series/movie is good ( see lost canvas) b) the series/movie uses the original saints basically, the only way to fudge this up is to make something bad with new characters |

Oh, it definitely won't look as good. What a waste of top-notch CG animation that movie was. |

Hey, it was totally worth for the Dead Mask music video. |

So how sanitized is the 3D Saint Seiya? I expect it to be kid friendly as hell with zero blood and no gruesome violence at all, which is like the whole selling point.

Watched about 3 episodes of this one, but I felt it to be kinda bland. I'll take the original anime over it any day.
It's a shame Saint Seiya didn't do that well on Netflix (they removed the original anime after only like, 2 years?). At least we've got a nice dub for that one now, so I'm still thankful. |

For whatever reason I thought this was a western adaption, so that was surprising to see. I wonder if they will bother reprising the English cast for this one.
