If the rumors of the hackers just deleting a lot of their work is true, then this is gonna be one hell of a long delay.

The damage from unauthorized access is apparently worse than I thought.
Dai no daibouken has already been postponed for more than a month, and Dragon Ball has also had its release postponed. If this continues, One Piece and Slam Dunk will also be postponed across the board. The total amount of damage that could be expected could be substantial.
We are no longer sure to what extent the quality of the works will be guaranteed. An even worse crunch may occur to make up for the delay.

Seriously? No back-up prepared? Or even that was not spared?

No idea what kind of system they use or anything like that, but most systems I've ever interacted with usually make simple copies of a file you're working on as the backup, and when you go to delete the primary file it will ask you if you want to delete just that file in that location (the one on your C drive for example), or in all locations (so your main C drive, your backup drive, etc). The reason to use this kind of system is ease of management - you don't have to hunt down a half dozen different old files to figure out which to keep and which to toss. Of course, that also means that someone looking to deliberately do something nefarious has a much simpler time too.

I suspect, depending on the duration of the breach, that they have "old" copies of a lot of the stuff that's being worked on - different file names from the final version that weren't as complete. But until they know for sure who breached, how, they probably don't want to just "get back to work" and risk the perp repeating this mess. It'd be like having a burglar in your house and you moving in a bunch of new stuff you just bought while the burglar's still there. That also means they need time to start with the old files and work them back up to their final version again, which in the case of the movie is likely no small feat.

According to some One Piece staff members nothing's been deleted, they are currently working on future episodes, it's just that the progress has been slowed down a bit.

I understand why they are calling this the second film in the DB Super franchise, but in reality it's the fourth. For all intents and purposes Battle of the Gods and Resurrection F should be considered DB Super films.

Honestly, this is just karma coming to bite Toei in the butt. After all the copyright crap they pulled with TeamFourstar and TotallyNotMark they really deserved every bit of this. It does suck that the movie is delayed but I take an arrow to the knee if it means Toei is hurt significantly. I just hope the hacker left some kind of reason stating that their copyright bs needs to stop.

Can you comprehend sentences? What part of "Z" in those titles are you not comprehending? No, you clearly don't understand because you contradicted yourself. In reality and for all intents and purposes, they are Z films that were ADDED to Super so the anime staff members can stall while they create new content pertaining to Super.

We can only hope you're right about that. But I have my doubts those staff members know what they're talking about.

This sounds like what the company wants them to say. Not sure high up the food chain any of these animators are but they might not know exactly what happened.

Excuse me? No one wants them to say anything in the first place, that info is from private accounts and not some official press release for damage control purposes.

Besides everyone at the studio has access to these servers, they would be aware if suddenly something was gone. As I previously mentioned they're continuing working on the episodes which wouldn't have been possible otherwise.

This thread should be helpful for those who don't know what's going on:

If you really understood anything, then you wouldn't contradict yourself saying the last two Z movies are the first two Super ones; Resurrection F and Battle Of The Gods were released under the Z banner. Being adapted for the Super season of Dragon Ball doesn't change that.
