Indeed, according to TRSI it's coming with an artbox, but that price tag really makes me wonder what the extras are going to be. But right now it's only about $34 on TRSI. I'm a bit hesitant to pre-order this though because I don't know which version of the Witchblade costume is going to be on the DVDs. Will it be the colored-in version that was shown on Japanese TV? Or will it be the much more revealing original version that was on the Japanese DVDs? It wouldn't surprise me if FUNi's DVDs have the original costume, but I prefer the TV version. The trailer on FUNimation's official site for Witchblade does show the TV version, but still I can't be too sure. But, if it does end up being the version I prefer, I'll definitely be buying this. I hope the dub is good. |

It's the fanboy version - widescreen uncut DVD R2 version. Skin is in. Click here for the trailer - http://www.funimation.com/witchblade We'll have a new trailer up shortly. Lance Heiskell Your Friendly Neighborhood FUNimation Guy. |

Thanks for the prompt response, Lance!
Darn. The "fanboy version" seems to be a bit too much fanservice for my tastes so I guess I'll have to rent this first when it comes out. But hey, thanks for bringing us Witchblade! |

What I am actively working on is telling everybody that there is a good story and overall plot that starts right in the first episode. Style and Substance It's a supernatural detective story along with Masane discovering/controlling/protecting her powers. It's plotted much like a comic book. Damn this is sexy, I've been waiting for this for what seems like forever. I am so excited to see this anime, I don't know what's going on about this skin business but I like what I saw on the website.

Ahh I see now, wow that's is quite revealing to say the least. Damn probably not going to watch that when folks are around or when the girlfriend is around. Well September 25 let me mark you on my day planner, busy day seeing as how school starts that same week. |

Wow thats an itsy bitsy tiny weenie, no room for polka dots getup... ___________________________________________ I am interested in this as well. Although I have a gazillion open orders right now, mostly pre-orders, and a bunch of new series I am following. So even though I have jumped on the proverbial pre-order bandwagon, I have been trying to hold back on doing that. But this one is slated for wallspace. |

I'll be picking this one up eventually, but I'll probably wait until at least two volumes are out (unless the artbox looks like it's going to vanish. In which case, I'll have to scoff it up immediately.)
I've got too many titles right now and too little money. I'm actually slightly in debt at the moment. (Don't worry about me, I'll have things squared away in a month tops.) Got to admit, that costume is rather skimpy. Not that I'm bothered, but still, it's kind of wow. Of course, I think Funimation's doing this right by using the uncensored R2 version. (Censorship is bad in my book, censored version would have been a no buy no matter what my view of Masane's costume.) |

That's true, good point. I didn't even think of it like that for some reason. Thinking about it now, there's a good chance that there would have been an outcry had FUNi released the TV censored version, so going the uncensored route is the better way to go. |

Your really pushing this series hard, I haven't seen FUNi rep ever push something so hard. I might change my mind every now and then, but depending on my financial situation in September, I'll probably pick up vol.1 for a test-run, unless NewType or someone has a free episode 1 to try out. My financial situation should be clear in September, since July and August is a literal slaughter on my wallet - 10+ DVDs - ACK! |

It's about time this finally got put on schedule. It's been licensed for, what, more than a year now? And since nothing more has been said about it, I assume that talks to have it air on [adult swim] fell through?
As for the fanboy costume issue: Enh. That's a lot closer to the way it's depicted in the actual comic book (which, to put it in anime/manga terms, has had rampant fan service as one of its cornerstones since its beginning). |
