I'm not terribly surprised at this news, as it won third place in the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho contest a few years back (which isn't a guarantee of an anime adaptation but many, many manga that have been nominated for it and/or ranked high in the polls have gotten adaptations). Can't wait for the first volume to get released here; it seems like a lot of fun.

Dead idols are becoming a trend in anime all of a sudden, I'm not sure what to think about this.

I find this premise extremely fascinating, however the Josei tag in various sites kind of confuses me, since nothing in the premise description would suggest this is a josei series (I would still love to read it)

So is this an Idol + Ghost Romance series?
I'm guessing part of the comedy comes from a ghost of a female Idol possessing a male Idol and having to pretend to be male.
And hey, Nao Toyama playing a female lead again! Even though she's dead.

The premise sounds a bit similar to Ginban Kaleidoscope: A 2005 TV series about a recently deceased (because of a tragic accident) young Canadian stunt pilot whose soul is suddenly trapped on the body of a young Japanese Figure skater (that's aiming to be top skater on the Olympics)
I enjoyed Ginban Kaleidoscope when it came out, if this series is somewhat similar to that, I will probably enjoy it...

The manga actually came out at the end of 2017, so it predates Zombie Land Saga (the quintessential dead idol girl anime) by about a year

It's based on a shoujo manga and looks really cute. I will probably enjoy this.
