This sounds very sweet! Thanks for the review. I’ll definitely pick this title up.

I really loved this manga. It's adorable and it made me happy how Hiroki could slip up so many times — he's not living in fear, he can speak before he thinks, it's fine... The art is really cute too and I liked having a high schooler MC who actually looks like a kid, haha.
I read Blue Sky Feeling a while ago, and now I really want to read it again.

I am also love how Tomoko is so supportive. I actually hope that Tomoko doesn’t tell her husband directly just because I feel that it should be Hiroki, especially since he hasn’t told her directly that he is his gay. Revealing her son’s sexuality without his permission would be like an invasion of privacy in my opinion. I do hope that she continues to work on the dad’s casual homophobia until the time comes for Hiroki to feel comfortable to come out.

Would you recommend Blue Sky Feeling? I was thinking of reading it but I was turned away by some comments I heard about it, mostly relating to an adult friend one of the characters has who's apparently his ex boyfriend

As someone who is Aisexual and was told they where gay and that it was ok. I personally find the subject to be a bit I really don't know the right words for it, and it isn't irritating but I do understand how for someone who was actually gay, how this could be nice and even a fantasy for them in some cases.

This is an absolutely fantastic manga. I have cried by how wholesome it is. As well I am glad the author (who is an actual man) talks about BL manga and how we can bring future allies into the LGBT+. There is an article about this too about the positive impact of BL but this manga soon will show it.

Oh, the dreaded internet search history. Pretty sure that's what tipped my father off...whoops!
This was a very well written and emotionally sensitive review. Thank you for sharing!

This sounds like a dreadful story, even if no offense is meant to be given, its regressive in its premise.

In what ways is it regressive? I read about 15 or so chapters a while back and nothing about it seemed regressive, I found it to be really sweet. I understand not liking it due to personal taste but not regressive.

Just from the review, it sounds like a good deal of the plot is that the mom wants her son to act on certain things, because SHE thinks/knows her son is gay. While some people might find the premise sweet, its kind of not.

That's not really the vibe I got from it at all. The mom never forces her son to do anything, or from what I remember really intervenes in anything at all (aside from trying to steer her husband away from the casual homophobia). She simply makes observations about what Hiroki says/does. Which by the way, are not subtle at all. It's pretty clear that he's gay and she's definitely not projecting any sort of fantasy into him. It's been a while since I've read it (I should probably read it again) but my point is Tomoko isn't doing anything bad.

Yeah, no, Hiroki is gay. His mom isn't like, shipping him or anything. He's gay and his mom wants him to be happy. She worries about things like his crush not reciprocating since he might not be gay himself, and she even has a chapter where she confronts that her hopes might not be fully considering her son's difficulties due to social stigma. She's very introspective.
That conclusion is maybe the most unfavorable/cynical way to approach what I wrote about the story.
