Surprised this is getting an LA dub when the last few Aniplex originals have gone to Funimation.
Not that I mind, Cristina and Max as the leads are perfect choices and I trust Wendee Lee's direction, just kind of surprising. It is nice to see Max in a new anime dub, and funnily enough I think this is the second time he's played a Jun Fukuyama character.
I think it's possible since Kayli Mills also adapted songs for Cells at Work!, but considering they didn't have Diva's Japanese VA sing her songs there's probably a chance they won't. |

Not completely sold on Matsumoto, I sort of expected him to sound a bit... weirder for lack of a better word, but I'm probably just used to the Japanese voices. Christina Vee is perfect casting though - will definitely at least check out the dub, although probably won't switch this far in.

Now I have even more reason to keep an eye on this series, I always enjoy Cristina Vee's work. I hope it doesn't suffer the fate of other recent Funimation dubs though, I mean I know the pandemic has been a challenge but dub episodes from them seem to come out less according to a schedule and more whenever they can be arsed to remember they're doing them (still waiting for them to finish up Mushoku Tensei and Last Dungeon dubs.)

Yes! Yes yes yes! This is the news I was hoping for. Vivy is easily my favorite airing anime this season, and the only reason I've held out on recommending it to more people is because Matsumoto is a wordy character who speaks quickly, which makes subtitle reading a frenetic activity (I have to often stop the player for a second just to make sure I've read everything).

Excited this is getting a dub and Cristina is a great choice for Vivy. Considering how rapid fire some of Matsumoto's dialogue is, this is a show that will greatly benefit with a dub.

Yessssssss I'm so excited for this dub and the casting for the two leads is exactly what I pictured when I watched the episodes in Japanese! I'm so glad Vivy is getting the attention it deserves, such a great original IP.
Yeah it's been ages since he's been cast in a brand new role for an anime! Demon Slayer as Sabito, was the last time, and before that Bungo Stray Dogs and I think Fate/Apocrypha back in 2017? He's done reprisals here and there but it's been mainly western animation and games for the man lately. He's going to rock it as Matsumoto.
God, I'm looking forward to them all! The songs in this show are absolute bangers and I know Cristina Vee is going to do an incredible job singing them. |
