I've seen a few people say they like it but honestly I hate the design. It's just a computer tower at this point.

"Mommy I want a Xbox Series X for Christmas", gets a Xbox One X. This is like the Wii and Wii U. Don't make the name so similar, Nintendo learned that the hard way.
Anyway, I'm actually glad they didn't try to compact it in a little case. I hate that my PS4 Pro gets super hot & fans have to get very loud because its compact. I'm fine with it looking like a PC, that's what modern consoles basically are anyway. The game exclusives are all that matter to me and Xbox One was disappointing, don't screw up again Microsoft.

Should've just stuck with the project codename - Xbox Scarlett is a lot less confusing and all around is just a better name.

Will I get a cute, scroll-biting loli demon inside if I buy one?

I thought the 8K support was a bigger joke.
These console systems have lagged behind the monitors for the last 2 generations and there's still little content available in 4K as it is! Most PS3/360 games were 720p, and they added 4K streaming support as a gimmick for PS4 Pro and XBox One S but none of the games were natively programmed for 4K -- they were still 1080p native. Most things are still 1080p if that and I think the returns are diminishing once you get above 1080p as it is. Heck, we're talking on an anime website and there's very little anime done above 2K (typical feature resolution is 2K; they're bumping up 2K features for 4K Blu ray release half the time) as it is! The vast majority of anime produced now is made for 1080p or mastered for 1080p from older sources. The market just isn't there for 4K and now they're pushing 8K TV sets? I just wouldn't bother with 8K!
The electronics industry pushed for HD to sell more TV sets, to get us out of the "dark age tube set" era when people typically kept their TV sets for 20-40 years; CRT sets were very durable. Like lemmings, a lot of us fell for the HD craze and felt we HAD to get an HD set. Do people even realize most media was SD prior to 2005/2006? A lot of old TV shows STILL broadcast at 480i!
Many of flatscreen sets won't last much beyond 10 years. You'll be lucky if that Sanyo set you bought for $150 lasts 3 years! (Oh, and I have had a Sanyo go bad in 3 years. It was an enhanced SD set but it was a flatscreen.)
A lot of us are doing fine with 1080p screens and there still aren't that many 4K monitors available for computers. Lots more 4K TV sets but very few people are buying 4K format Blu ray discs and 4K players.
This next generation of console may be it for physical/disc media.

Get the Xbox One X and a 4K TV new options, programs and games pop up in the store. It's all eye candy but to get the most out of it you need to install an SSD. Life is so much better with the solid state

The only time Xbox has appealed to me was the launch of the 360 when they were focusing on appealing to the Japanese market, so we got a lot of nice RPGs like Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata. These days they've more or less given up on non-American markets, so there was no real reason for me to pay attention to Microsoft.

What's the point of 8K, there are still a lot of people who don't even own a 4K TV, never mind a 8K TV.

I feel like the 8k support is just to help future proof the thing. The console generation will probably be 5+ years. It probably isn't really a feature meant for gaming either. PS4 gen will last 7 years, and a lot can happen during that time. If the next generation lasts the same amount of time, 8k may pick up to the level 4k has currently.

The shape is probably better for cooling, too since it appears to have a fan at the top (likely with a green LED in it). If it's using a self contained liquid cooling loop for the CPU/GPU connected to the top exhaust fan by a radiator and plentiful heat pipes, heat sinks, and heat spreaders it should be fine if it sucks in air from the bottom and blows it out the top.
Not sure why the didn't just call it the Xbox Two X (2x) since they're surely market it as twice as powerful as the Xbox One X since it can do 8K.

Soon, Microsoft will come out with the X Box XXX. It should sell well to the right demographic.

Meh. Microsoft’s first party games don’t appeal to me like Sony’s and Nintendo’s. The other problem for me is the lack of Japanese support usually seen on the Xbox line. I’ll pass.
