i normally wouldn't care as this isn't some Tenjou Tenge type of manga anyway... but it's such a stupid edit.

What's wrong with Viz? Didn't they used keep their manga uncensored? It all changed when they brung all those Shonen Jump manga over.

The only way to teach these companies is to boycott them, period. If you buy this edited stuff, the company folks say, "It doesn't matter. Edit at will!"

That's... special. This is the company that publishes X and Angel Sanctuary, but a secular crucifixion needed to be edited?

i think a boycott may be a little extreme, but... i don't know it's just such a pointless edit.

While I'm not going to get my panties in a wad over, that's a stupid and highly discouraging edit. What the heck is the point?

people are so sensitive. i mean both side. i don't see anything wrong with stone cross. on the other hand, i don't see that edit change anything.

For anyone that is in the least bit disappointed with this edit or thinks its stupid, please do us all a favor and complain to Viz. I just sent some emails, and it did not take long. If enough people do it, perhaps we can get them to do something.

Thanks.

See, problem is, people tend to take "boycott" as meaning "just read the scanlations", and yeah.

I think I'll just stick to the way I do things- read legitimately imported tankoubon almost exclusively, rather than bothering with translations.

If you guys aren't happy, then steal their manga instead of buying it. That would piss them off. =P

Damn, I actually thought Viz was doing an alright job with the translation with only like one or two minor name inconsistencies but anyone could put two and two together with those. I thought they only edited Shonen Jump stuff since it's marketed to kids. That is just retarded. D:!

EDIT: I'm going to do some emailing to Viz. It might help or might not. Depends on how many people will email them.

EDIT 2: Follow up post: animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=325297#325297
