"Various circumstances."
Anyone else catch that it was the PS4 version that was delayed everywhere for this reason? I smell an Omega Labyrinth Z situation. Is Sony becoming the new Nintendo and vice versa? What a strange world we live in.

I don't think the censored version of Nekopara has much to get worked up about though. It only got a T rating from the ESRB for "Suggestive Themes".

the switch version is up on the japanese eshop and it has english as second language! so what "Various circumstances" are there? I can only think about something along copyright BS like with the AOT where in the USA it was called "attack on titan" and in europe it retain the "shingeki no kyojin" for god knows what reason.
so switch owners, go open a japanese account and have fun while the rest will have to wait(except PC that got it years ago)

Don't forget that the game does release on the Switch in North America today. So no need for the japanese account in North America at least.

What even is the point of releasing a butchered version of NekoPara on consoles? I do prefer reading VNs on consoles, but this title is based on a hentai doujin, so any existing fan of the series will just stick with the uncensored PC version. The recent Muv-Luv Vita release makes much more sense to me, since that is a huge game with multiple routes. But NekoPara is just a 3 hour kinetic novel with little replay value.

"Butchered" lol. Oh no it doesn't have vaguely beastilaty and crappy voice acted sex. Lol.
Since the delay is Europe only for the Switch they probably haven't got it through PEGI yet.
As for PS4… who knows? Who cares?

Make no mistake, I really don't care about NekoPara to complain about removed h-scenes. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to me why they would release a censored version of this partcular VN in the first place. The existing fanbase (fans of the doujinshi) would probably not even consider getting a censored vanilla version of the game ( which, let's face it, doesn't have much of a story to begin with) when they can just get the 18+ PC version. The VN is very short and doesn't have any branching character routes, so the naughty stuff is its biggest selling point as far as I'm concerned.
