Well I think this is something really neat to see. Like a brief reunion of the original cast of Ranma 1/2. Does anyone know who are in this pic? I know Rumiko Takahashi is bottom center and Kappei Yamaguchi (male Ranma) and Noriko Hidaka (Akane) are top center, but is that Megumi Hayashibara (female Ranma) I see at the top left corner?
Also, do I see Kenichi Ogata (Mr. Saotome) sitting next to Rumiko in this pic with them as well?

Its a crying shame that the final arc of Ranma 1/2 was never animated. That could have been a spectacular series climax.

Well never say never. I will keep my wishful thinking of Ranma 1/2 getting a special OVA like YYH or even better a final arc series.

If that did happen, they should figure out a way to introduce Ryoga's love interest Akari into the series.
Would 12 episodes be enough to end the anime?

I didn't watch this anime, but there's one thing I must say - Kappei Yamaguchi and Noriko Hidaka are like soul mates.

yes, Rumiko is setting between Ogata (Genma) and OOBAYASHI (Soun), and that on top left is Hayashibara I believe.

yes, Rumiko is setting between Ogata (Genma) and OOBAYASHI (Soun), and that on top left is Hayashibara I believe. |
Thanks so much for filling me in on that. I wonder why Koichi Yamadera (Ryoga) or Kikuko Inoue (Kasumi) aren't in this pic as well. It's just sad that Hiromi Tsuru (Ukyo), Hirotaka Suzuoki (Tatewaki) or even Ichiro Nagai (Happosai) aren't alive to be a part of this very special reunion. Does anyone agree?
One more thing...where in the world (specifically Japan) are other members of the original cast like Minami Takayama (Nabiki), Saeko Shimazu (Kodachi), Toshihko Seki (Mousse), and especially Miyoko Asou (Cologne)?

I could see them doing it as a 1-cour series. But they'd have to recast some of the characters, because sadly at least 3 of the recurring cast members are no longer with us.
Still, its the only major series of Takahashi's (barring Rinne-ne, which has only recently ended) that never got its final arc animated. It would be a real shame if it never gets produced.

Didn't know that about Hiromi Tsuru--
At least we know that Kikuko/Kasumi is still alive and busy with her idol career at seventeen. (And thus was too expensive/managed to show up.)

When it's a manga/based promotion, I'm guessing the "B-characters" are left out of the promotional event.
