Where does Tubi TV get these oddball additions from? They’re certainly welcome, but completely out of left field for a streaming site that doesn’t even primarily focus on anime.

I thought Figure 17 was pretty good, ended up buying it about a year before it went out of print.

Never heard anyone talk about it, and thought it was one of the better undiscovered gems of Anime Works lineup.

Nice to see both titles legally streaming, though I got my hopes up for a split second that all 26 episodes of I'm Gonna Be an Angel were available. Sad

I appreciate how Tubi TV is picking up older, more overlooked anime along with stuff like Infini-T Force.

I would love it if someone like DiscoTek could pick up I'm Gonna Be An Angel. I had those Synch-Point DVD's back then and always wanted to see the rest of the series. It's a shame that even with this announcement we're still only getting half of it...

Loved Figure 17. It has an interesting episode format as well as each episode is double length. Has the most heartbreaking scene in it, probably only beaten by Clannad After Story.

Figure 17 is great, I have the series and it's quite unusual in a good way with something great to say about what makes a family.

They can probably pick up the streaming licenses for cheap at this point.
These shows are 10 years or more older. That's considered ancient for anime now!

I can't help but think A) Tubi TV got a very good deal and B) these shows are new for somebody (which is a LOT of people; anime's a passing fad for most; I'm well aware of the fact that the fans over 10 years in the hobby are the minority, NOT the rule) but not so old-looking they'll offend the "sensibilities" of people who will only look at shows that are 5 minutes old. There's a lot of those people online as well as the guys who will only look at anything made before 1993! You have snobs at every extreme for sure! Stick with this hobby long enough, you'll definitely see the cycles and waves. Right now, we're in a wave where I think the theatrical product is BETTER than the TV shows being produced in general. Ten years was a completely different story!

I'm very aware of the fact anime is not perfect, either, but they produce a much higher volume of animated product per year in Asia that there's inevitably going to be at least 1 or 2 GOOD new series and movies in any given year.

Figure 17 is probably the best one mentioned. That other show---! Look, I know every show has its fan but I tend to stay from anime that looks "non-offensive" and "overly cute."

I want some conflict. There's anime that's bored me to tears because nothing was going on there. A lot of the shows that are "slice of life" are the kind of thing I actively avoid.
I'm not a fan of anything like Legend of the Overfiend, either, but there are too many shows where nothing happens or develops!

I'm Gonna Be An Angel! reminds you of how weird looking 90s character designs were.

I enjoyed Figure 17 but I think I did too much in too little time. Trying to watch 'Figure 17' after watching 'Key the Metal Idol' might be a bit too much. And all it did was screw up what I was supposed to feel for either show. But Figure 17 was a show I wanted to see more than anything. But it is definitely ............................................................................a.................................................................................................................................slice......................................................................of..................................................................life.......................................................show.

You gotta be in it.

I've never heard of this service. But it would be interesting to see this series re-released again.

I remember 'I'm going to be an Angel'. I remember when it was being released but it just died and stopped. You can find a list of shows that just died after 2 vols released. I remember seeing this title at the TRSI bargan bins. And you would only find a few volumes because there wasn't anymore. "Were they still publishing this? What happened to the rest?" Wasn't out long enough. Just stopped and they just wouldn't disappear from those bins. Not even for $3.
